So what do we have so far?

Poland - Greece 1:1
Russia - Czechia 4:1
Holland - Denmark 0:1
Germany - Portugal 1:0 YAY!!!

Germany's 1:0 versus Portugal was a tough piece of work. I think Germany was the better team overall with more ball possession and better at tackles, but Portugal had a few extremely dangerous chances, like that Wembley shot* which was clearly NO GOAL this time. Boateng did a superb job with taking care of Ronaldo. You cannot neutralize him 100%, but Boateng was successful in total. Thank god Gomez made his goal just a minute before he was supposed to be substituted. Phew!

*: For Germans, a Wembley shot is a shot which hits the bar and drops down somewhere near the goal line. Germany lost the 1966 world championship final because of one by England, but we got satisfaction in the 2010 world championship, versus England. 1966: No goal, but given. 2010: Goal, but not given.

I did not think the NFL was playing in that many games in Europe this year.

Holland looked good in the middle of field but far too wasteful in front of goal. Denmark were very solid at the back, but lucky to win I think. A draw would have been fair.

Germany impressed, of the teams so far I'd say they'd be the favourites to win.

And we'll have to agree to disagree about the goal in '66!

I think Germany didn't show the strengths which they had shown in the last few years. They played very static. We had a strong defence, however, strong enough to deal with a few of the world's best strikers, including the best of them all. Holland will be a more serious opponent, but I guess their play style suit's Germany's in a better way.

And yes, Holland were the better team, but wasted too many chances.

I did not think the NFL was playing in that many games in Europe this year.

I'm trying to pay attention to this, but I don't think I care about any of the teams so it will be difficult for me to get invested, but thats no surprise from a tournament that doesn't include CONCACAF, maybe I will catch a game at some point

I agree that maybe Holland was the better team yesterday, they certainly had ALOT of chances!

I just remain happy with the fact that they didn't score, but we did, and therefore won the match:P

I'm actually going to Hamburg on wednesday. Too bad that Denmark doesn't face Germany in the match on that day.
