I'm so upset. I'm not all that jazzed about playing a Wiz but, my barb can only do so much in inferno. So, I'm starting the wiz build; beat Diablo and the drops are awesome. There must have been 5 or 6 yellow(rares) on the ground. I'm playing with a party of people. Before I can pick up my items ... i'm in credits and the game is gone.
What went wrong? How did this happen? Did someone in my party do this? How can I avoid it in the future?
thanks for your time - those who respond.

Most likely someone in the party, but it shouldn't end until 30 seconds are up from when someone completes all the quests.
That's unlucky buddy.

Thanks KTang.
Has this happened to anyone else? Please co-miserate with me so I don't feel like the only person that this has ever happened to.
Tell me this: were the drops that good because it was my first time beating Diablo with that character? Does the game 'know' that was my first time? Or is it usually decent drops?

The first time you kill a boss in Normal you always get good drops. This doesn't apply to other difficulties.
Someone clicked on the angel and completed the quest, ending the game. I had it happen to me, too, and it's incredibly annoying. You would think Blizzard would have learnt about this sort of thing by now. Rather than ending for everyone when the first person speaks to the angel, the game should be individually ended for each player when they speak to the angel. The same goes for finishing Acts.
This IS annoying and should be fixed. Has this "bug" been posted at all at Bnet forums?
Rose: You're an alien? You sound like you're from the North.
Doctor: LOTS of planets have a North!!!
i felt ripped off. I can't tell you what a stupid thing this is to deal with. I had to walk away from my computer. It's like having a level 60 HC character die ...
i'm just never getting a decent drop in this game, then I look at the Auction House and there's people posting 1500 dps 1 handed weapons and uniq rings and all kinds of goodies ... things I never find.
I finally switch characters, give up the barb and just give in to the wiz/sinking hours of my life into it and my first decent drop get's taken away by a glitch.
sometimes this stuff makes e sick
That's pretty bad, man. :( If you can find a way to report that you should cuz that's definitely something that should never happen.
Yeah, that's something that they need to address. Basically, when someone in your party finishes the quest you can see the timer going in the middle of the screen saying 'Act ends in so and so seconds'.
But it's not that hard to not notice it, and even if you do, what if your backpack is full? Are you supposed to quickly drop your other items to pick up the loot?
Since you need cheering up, what Diablo drops on normal isn't worth 2500g on the auction house. It does suck to lose those unidentified rares. And of course in your mind they will forever be the most perfect rolls. But by the time you get to Leoric in Nightmare you'd be salvaging them anyway. (Or selling them.) Here, have a radiant emerald.
Unlike Diablo 2, D3 apparently doesn't allow players to be in different acts. But you should always have 30 seconds and an unmissable "WARNING - ACT/GAME ending in..." timer on the bottom center of your screen when someone triggers the end of each act. I agree that Blizzard needs a better solution, but it hasn't been a problem for me. Maybe ending the act should bring up the large accept/decline box, and the act/game can only end by unanimous vote? Would that lead to griefing? We can already vote kick people to deny them quest credit.
Blizzard is already looking at this. Someone on the official forum posted "I beat Diablo and I can't make nightmare games. y??". Through investigation we learned that he missed talking to Auriel. Doh. I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future the game just simply never ends, talking to Auriel does nothing but give you text, and killing Diablo instantly flags you as a winner. But that doesn't solve Azmodan or Belial.
