He's pretty tough, but here's another way to kill him if you have the gear and don't want to use the guardian rune on Familiar. I was running about 32k health, 800 resist, 7600 armor, 38.5% crit, 33% block (Sacred Shield) and 12k dps.

Edit: I think I forgot to bring the enchantress for the damage/armor buff.
Here's Belial (a lot easier): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRpH8FEyer4
Here's Izual (a bit tougher): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJFoau5MofQ
Here's Diablo (a lot tougher): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6aDt5Mq-Fo

That's in the current patch? Very nice. I wish I had the gear to do it that way.
That's impressive. It's very nice to see people making builds focused on something other than "omg my dps number on the character screen looks too low".
I recognize the Wizardspike presumably for the AP on crit + attack speed. Is that a Helm of Command? Curious if you rolled AP on crit on that as well (or is it just for block?), and if you'd need it to make the meteors drop down fast enough. Or is the 10 on Wizardspike enough?
I've always been a fan of the Meteor + Frost Nova + Diamond Skin + Critical Mass combo, but I haven't managed to find a headpiece with AP on Crit and the other stats I want yet to make it effecient.
Curious, did you find the life regen on Galvanizing Wind necessary for this fight? A little surprised you didn't go the Arcane Dynamo route. Although on second thought, maybe with prioritizing casting Diamond Skin and Frost Nova, you'd get your flashes of Insight eaten too often to make it worthwhile.
Nope, just a cheap standard Helm of Command for the block chance/socket, it's really not optimal for this fight.
The wizard spike also has +life on hit, which was what I initially bought it for, but the AP on crit is definitely a nice addition (it's the only item I have with AP on crit). I just have so much crit right now that even with only 10 I can make the AP shoot back up fairly quickly.
As for the galvanizing ward, I don't really know if it helped or not. Rakanoth hits hard enough that I think every bit of life regen/life on hit helps.
The combination of AP on crit and high critical hit chance really looks like a nice combination. The cooldowns almost wear off immediatly due to critical mass and the fast regenerating AP pool lets you spam Meteor constantly. Like that build idea a lot.
Apart from high damage reduction and high resistances. Do you have any life regeneration?

He is super easy if you just hydra kite him around the holes in the ground, he can't charge you. Of course that kind of defeats the point of your build.
I'll be interested to know how diablo goes for you with this build. I killed him by kiting, if you manage to kill him by face tanking I'll be suitably impressed.
I did end up kiting him just a little bit around the holes, mostly to avoid the frost bombs being spawned all over the place.
As for Diablo, not today. I'm not sure how safe it is to face-tank him considering he's got that fire ball + aoe dot move that deals so much damage.
Heh, I almost got him with this build several times. My crit chance and attack speed were a smudge too low to keep up the stunlock (I didn't have the life/armor to survive his melee swings so I only stood a chance if I interrupted every one of his cast time attacks; got him to 10% hp several times with just alternating Wave of Force and Frost Nova). You can actually also do this with Ray of Frost as well, I believe.
Incidently, if you use the last MI rune, you can add an additional Frost Nova and Wave of Force per rotation because it casts those two spells with full CC effect.
Down goes Diablo! Took forever (20 minutes) and countless deaths. Generally phase 2 is the hardest part because you don't have access to the healing wells (not to mention those shadow clones and their 50k arcane orbs). I also swapped out Frost Nova/Blur for Mirror Image/Illusionist so I could get rid of the nasty DoTs he puts on me.
Honestly... just kite him, it's a lot easier to dodge all his spells at range and since the fight is faster due to more dps you have less chances of making a mistake.
In terms of deaths, about 75% of them were during phase 2 when he just wore me out of cooldowns/health. Phase 3 is pretty dangerous, too, but less because of the lightning inferno attack and more because he starts spamming the fire bomb spell.
