Hi Guys,
what do u prefer?
Ultrafast 1h dagger (1,50) with IAS (up to 1,88 aps)
1h Dagger with more damage, no IAS
other 1h (less aps, more damage per hit)
Slow 2h-Weapon with even more damage
Plz refer to a build (Splinters or Visionquest)
Greets
I use Splinters build. Dagger with 1.88 aps is best, but currently I'm using 1h sword with some IAS because it had great price and dps.
right now im using 900dps 25ias 1,88 aps
dunno if ~1kdps 0ias dagger would be better..

ideal would be a slow 1h weapon + mojo + attack speed on gear.
a spear/mace are the slowest with 1,20 attack speed and have therefore the highest min-max damage and average damage. if you plan your endgame gear you should aim for such a weapon without attack speed modifier, unless it already has a high min-max border to your liking. with attack speed items (rings, amulett, legendary boots, legendary helmet, legendary bracer) you can reach far over 2 APS even with such a slow weapon.
a socket also places a huge role. emerald (crit damage) can bring such an incredible damage boost, in particular if you stack up crit on a few items (gloves, off hand, amulet, helmet, bracer, rings - just with the first two you can get over 20% crit).
Personally I'm looking for a 1.20 APS 1,1k+ spear with a socket (spear has more style^^) to replace my 1k DPS Axe with a socket and 1.53 APS.
For a sacrifice build, using slow 2-handed weapons with the highest damage possible, since attack speed is irrelevant.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe attack speed is meaningless for Locust Swarm and Haunt, more or less. Confused about its effects on Grasp of the Dead... Is there any sort of central guide on how it affects our skills? Seems more complicated for us than for most classes.
It reduces the delay between skills. For one-use stuff like grasp etc, it would basically just reduce the delay time that u suffer after casting the spell, allowing u to start moving or cast other stuff quicker. I think it's pretty self-explanatory for spammable skills like poison dart etc.
I like the idea of a slow two hander, but your cast speed becomes a very serious liability. Plus your character feels really clunky and slow. Casting with slow weapons needs to be tweaked to you aren't so damn slow IMO. Kiting and basic character maneuvering just gets totally shut down by it currently.
Its been a several days since I've gotten my ~1340 dps polearm. It has seen a good amount of use, but everytime an actually difficult monster comes my way I have to swap to my 722dps cknife and mojo, it feels bad man..
I'm using Haunt and Locust Swarm (and Darts) and it seems like everything points to using a slow two-hander for more damage, but getting stuck in a casting animation worries me (hardcore). I guess I can look for a cheap lowbie two-hander to test out before I drop a bunch of gold on a real one.
My dream weapon is a 1200 dps +1XX mana +13 mana regeneration 3% lifeleech cermonial knife. Of course at best with 25% ias and int/vit boni.
Right now I'm using a centurion spear with life leech and about 850 dps.
For poison dart builds, I'd suggest a 1 hander, preferably not an IAS one though. So if we are going by magic affixes, u'd want Grim's for prefix and any of the highest dmg suffixes (death, blight, conflagration, etc). This will give it the best base dmg, and u improve your IAS through other items, like IAS rings, amulets, gloves, hammer jammers, lacuni's prowler, etc.
For zombie bear builds, u can use a slow 2-hander since it's not really too spam orientated like poison dart is.
