Is there any specific resistance that is best to pick for our passive skill "One With Everything"? I am currently going with Poison and am close to level 60 on my Monk and he is at a good 50% resistance to everything. I was just curious if people notice one that is easier to find. To me it just seems all random like everything else on gear.
There have been a few discussions on this topic already,
I think I mentioned in one thread that I personally don't think it's the best passive to have taking up one slot, (don't get me wrong, it's an awesome passive--there are just better alternatives)
simply because once you get to slowly upgrading pieces of your gear, you'd be looking for gear that fits the specific resistance you are stacking, as opposed to looking for primary attributes you'd need anyways,
For example, you find a godly piece of armor in AH with high base armor, sockets, dex, vit, etc. for 500k, but you'd be suffering because it doesn't have fire resist--do you still get it? IMO the gear you look for shouldn't be predicated on any one single resist, and in that sense it is better to find @resist, even though it'd cost you a fortune more.

Right, with One with Everything there's a hidden opportunity cost of gear selection penalty which can be significant.
Monks are just swimming in so many good passive to pick from too.
Now if you happen to have a great set of armor with 1 theme then sure, but otherwise I'd just focus on +Res all gear without bothering too much with theme, while saving a passive slot for something. If down the line you kinda managed to steer for a nice theme set then you can switch then if you want.
If I can pick though, I'd say Physical > Fire/Poison > the rest
I would have to disagree with this statement. The end goal is more mitigation and survivability. If you are blindly hunting for the resist you are stacking, then yes that would be bad. The idea is that OWE instantly gives you more return on your initial investment. If you find something that gives you more mitigation, why wouldn't you get it? Rarely will you find the perfect upgrade at the end of the game. You may find something so good but will have to shift your gear around to keep everything balancing. This kind of min max math is one of the most fascinating aspects of Diablo.
Personally I try to keep a "floater" ring slot so that I can use it to plug in whatever I need at the moment. If I find myself low on hp for example, I can just go and grab a huge vit ring for cheap.

Getting + All resists would definitely be nice, I do try and even things out so I'm not losing out on other important stats for sure. I'm curious if resistances are as useful as they were in Diablo 2. Where if you get them so high that you are taking really low damage in Inferno or something.
There's no "really low damage" in inferno, but you will be taking a lot lot less damage for sure.
When I hit level 45, I just searched for good gear with vit/dex/sockets and found some with high Lightning Resist. So I decided to search out the rest of my gear based on LR and then used OWE. Eventually, after leveling up into the 50s, I started to switch over to Resist All gear and now I have dropped OWE for another Passive.
Something worth mentioning.
If you are looking for resistance gear on the AH for OWE, look for gear with +(your chosen resist) and +all resists.
For example, you might find something with +30 fire resist and +20 all resist, to equal a 50+all resist with your OWE.
Molten is the worst for monks I think. They swarm you or inprison you and you're stuck on molten and/or decicrate..I would boost resistance for Fire and use the rune to increase the rest to that level.
But I'm still lvl55 so what do I know.
Fire and physical resists are generally the most expensive on ah though compared to other not-so-useful ones like poison/arcane/lightning.
