Coming back to D2

I'm finding it hard to explain but after playing D3 for a while and trying PoE for a bit I find myself wanting to play D2 again . Anyone in the same boat?

Are they still resetting the ladder? If so when was the last time? I guess I'm trying to find out if it makes sense to make a char now or wait a bit until they reset again.

The current ladder started early May if I recall correctly. Still very early.
