EDIT: I'm clueless about this stuff (probably why I have only ever acquired 1 anni in D2) - someone was saying you sell NON ladder sojs to lure him out? Can someone explain if they have time?

Okay to make it quick:

Games in Diablo II run on servers with a specific IP,
Every server can have many open games - both non-ladder and ladder,
Every time af SoJ is sold in a game, it affects all games on the same server - regardless of non-ladder or ladder,
SoJs are easier to hoarde on non-ladder because of more dupes and a 'older' economy,
So when you make an event like this, the host will sell around 100 SoJs on non-ladder while the participants will have an open game on the same server, which is called out by the host.

Its just as superduck said, although the sojs i have were bought on ladder (last ladder ofc) so theyre non ladder now but IP is the same, whether its a non ladder game or a ladder game. All that matters is that you find the right IP and make a hell game

Mack - thank you for the explanation. I remember now the mindless sequence of create game and cmd netstat and the resulting RD :P I also remember landing the killing blow on big daddy Diablo and then the game crashing. Timing was too coincidental; someone moderating the realm was having fun that day

Im gonna post the ip about 2 hours before the walk, i gave all my nl sojs to a friend who is going to hold a walk instaed of me in case i cant do it, he will also help me find the games for the walk. If people fail to find the game in that time then that is unfortunate, there will be no waiting for anyone to find the game. You should also keep in mind that the game will crash after 14 seconds so make sure you get chars capable of killing it on time, do not wait to ID the anni in same game and leave as soon as you pick it up.

The best way to spawn him is to go to Arcane sanctuary, press the portal once so that the blue portal appears but DO NOT go inside, wait for the message "diablo walks the earth" and then enter it. That way you will save on precious seconds to kill him and grab an anni. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask, might aswell give the tips now since there are a few walks a day so its very possible some of you will face such situation before the 30th!

I read that the games only crash then people have the intent to crash it. They do this to get rollback the game and get the sojs back. If this keeps private, we should be fine with time I think.
