    I was considering to level up to 50 before trying Belial, but I really wanted to get through this, so I tried. Killing him was easy, even with a messed up skill setup.

    dps:5,2k dps
    Without buffs, using Tough as nails and nerves of steel though.

    Fight was a breeze, was worried at first but never lost more than 1/5th or 1/6th of my hp and basicly tanked all hits except his "ultimate"

    I just lost my first HC barbarian on NM Belial. I was lvl 45 -- 12K hitpoints. It was very close, I probably could have beaten him.

    Reading these forums to try to better prepare myself. Noticing that I was WAAAY off what most had there.

    Some average values from my 5 characters (1 per class), they all are still alive and kicking. I'm playing with selffound items only.

    Normal Belial: lvl 27 / 2k - 2,5k hp / ??? dps
    Normal Azmodan: lvl 30 / 3k - 3,5k hp / 300 dps
    Normal Diablo: lvl 32 / 4k - 4,5k hp / 400dps
    Nightmare Butcher: lvl 39 / 7k - 8k hp / 700dps

    Level 52 Wizard
    26,4k hp
    3,2k dps
    1180 armor
    Resistances from 96-130
    Played solo.

    I expected a somewhat easier battle, had to drink potions. I think I shouldn't have experiment with skills just before fighting him, I tried out this build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...kXR!aXb!aZcYaa

    I guess it's time for me to test and understand more the wizard skills as I expect hell to be way harder than nightmare.

    Wow, you guys are so much more cautious than I am. Going through HC for the first time, completely solo, never repeating anything.

    Wizard
    Normal diablo - 2k hp, 600 dps, level 32
    Nightmare butcher - 5.6k hp, 1200 dps, level 38
    Nightmare belial - 8k hp, 2200 dps, level 43
    Nightmare azmodan - 13k hp, 4100 dps, level 48
    Nightmare diablo - 15k hp, 4300 dps, level 49 (act 4 gives you no xp ...)

    Inferno butcher with relative ease:

    Barb unbuffed (e.g. pre maniac, pre wotb):
    54k life
    11.5k dps
    150ish all res with impunity
    8.5k ish armor

    In terms of spec, I did use superstition and both armor passives, and superstition is useless on this boss, so if you're not running 5NV, the fight is even easier when you drop super for something like 25% dps at full rage passive, or ultimate reducer for double EQ, double WOTB.

    I dropped a few pieces of all-res for this fight (since you only get hit by physical and fire, and much of it is avoidable completely), and put on more str. My 5NV stack gathering stats are quite different.

    Just killed Ghom in NM with my barb. At the Arreat Gate now.

    Level 46
    18k hp.
    4k armor (buffed)
    1.7k DPS
    16% dodge.

    Good stuff guys, surprised there aren't more DH or WD posts, although I guess barbs are probably the safest. Any input from DH or WD is welcome!
