It's flawed, but I enjoy it more than I have just about anything else in a long time.

It's boring. I'll probably sell all my stuff once the RMAH comes out.

Re: Diablo 3: Let down or satified?

    I'd give the game a 4/5

I just to to ACT 2 Inferno with my DH without using any AH items, however I find that the difficulty ramps up significantly at that point so I'm a little frustrated -- but I started a new HC Monk and am LOVING it so far. So the difficulty on Inferno is rather frustrating, and I agree that the end game and itemization seems a bit lacking at this point -- I can only hope and have faith that Blizzard is listening to all their fans and are working on things to make this game the best it possibly can be. Because as far as gameplay and presentation is concerned, this game is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Diablo 2, but the issues on hand do leave me wanting more... however I still enjoy the game very much

Its a let down by blizzard. What I find funny is that diablo 2 mods came up with better skills and spells then the people at blizzard. Also thats another thing people won't beable to mod diablo 3 like they did diablo 2. I honestly think if diablo 3 had singleplayer mode someone out there would be working on a mod for diablo 3 that would make it the great game it should have been.

The first play through of normal is pretty fun and will satisfy a lot of people, however as you play it more and more the shallowness of the game becomes apparent and how they basically took everything interesting and fun in D2 and crushed the life out of it. Some of D3's problems are fixable, but others are like ingrained in the game due to very perplexing design decisions.

The only thing that I actually like about diablo III is the gameplay itself those rare moments when playing in a group progressing together were you would have failed otherwise.

There were some cases of this with a team of necro/sorc, ama/pala in d2 too but not as frequently and not with 4 players.

But else it has been a let down in almost every way.
If there is ever a elder scrolls multiplayer game I will be playing that and never look back.

They're working on one, but I am not too optimistic. http://pc.ign.com/articles/122/1224248p1.html

The reason MMOs suck is because of gameplay mechanics forced on the devs by the fact that they're MMOs, IMO. I tried SWTOR, since that one was REALLY supposed to give you a single-player-like experience... but nope. All the same issues.

Re: Diablo 3: Let down or satified?

The thing is for me what a good rpg has to have are interesting mechanics, a immerse atmosphere and a good story.

    DIII has neither.
I know of the elder scrolls mmo that's why I mentioned it. I don't care if it is a mmo, the distinction is vague. The elder scroll games have some issues too like efficient leveling, or the need to do it. But what they did right is the itemization.
Too bad blizzard didn't pick up on the idea that they could make legenderies drop with differnt stats depending on level.

I don't mind any of those balancing issues, mw/obv/syk have them too, plenty of them. But they don't stand or fall on them, just like DI and DII never did.

Hahaha! 2/3 of voters are either disappointed or find the game just "ok". 100 player sample. D3 is a gaming failure, only a temporary financial success.

That's because most people who enjoy the game, don't crawl through all these threads.

Personally, I'm now pretty bored of D3 after 120 hours or so. However, I think it's a brilliant game, and I got my moneys worth. Compared to Elder Scrolls, which I thoroughly enjoyed up until about... 10 hours of gameplay each? I guess different games just have different time spans, for different people. I enjoyed D3 way more as a first and second playthrough, whilst I found D2 pretty boring plot wise, but I could still play it constantly. So, I love both.

In conclusion; I'm not let down in the slightest, third best game I've ever played (first time through).
