Hi guys, currently my stats are:
http://i.imgur.com/HtDSk.jpg
I know they're too low because I'm getting ganked by trash mobs in Act 2. Ridiculous! I don't think my gear is terrible, but I do have a few pieces with only, like, 16 ares, it's just a matter of trying to farm millions of gold for an upgrade...
Anyway what would you say are the benchmark stats to succeed in Act 2 Inferno?
Are there any builds which seem to work particularly well? I'm using:
Frenzy/Maniac
Revenge/Provocation
Leap/Iron Impact
Ignore Pain/Iron Hide
War Cry/Impunity (the resistances in that picture were after the buff, by the way :()
Wrath of the Berserker/Insanity
Nerves of Steel
Tough as Nails
Superstition
It's worked for me as a leveling/questing/farming build all the way up until A2 Inferno, but even Leap+Ignore Pain+a pretty decent Shield (23% chance to block) so I guess it's time to find a new angle.
Thanks in advance
Take sidearm instead of maniac on the build side.
Otherwise, try to get your resists up and start prioritising that and armor (from armor itself or strength in case you eventually give up nerves of steel, which I never took). I'm able to farm inferno A2 with around 1000 buffed resists and 10k armor, but I have lower block and about 2/5 of your HP. I imagine you can get through A2 without too much trouble apart from some elites with ~750 buffed resists. It might also be beneficial to try to get your dex up to 500, but don't sacrifice too many other stats for that.
Also, if you can, try to get some more life on hit (ideally around 700 - grab a weapon and a life on hit amulet). Your attack speed seems very suited for life-on-hit assuming it's from rings, gloves etc.
I found the first quest of A2 the hardest, sand wasp elites pwnt me. Don't be put off when this or this happens. You know you're fine though when each projectile takes off about 2k damage after warcry.

Barbs gear up for Act 2 expecting to crush everything they come across. Sadly, unless your gear is the best in the world, there are packs you'll have to just try and skip. It's an unfortunate fact. I have 700 resist all buffed, 54k HP, 8800 armor, and 15k DPS, and I can't tank everything in Act 2. Melee is fundamentally broken in that regard.
The "cookie cutter" build for Act 2 and beyond is this one: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XRk!bVc!accaZc with only some very minor variances (some people prefer Wrath, for instance. I personally like Overpower over Leap, since I never seem to have enough healing... Leap just seems to delay the inevitable) But the core of Frenzy+Revenge+Ignore Pain+Warcry almost never changes.
Sidearm is better than Maniac, by the way.
Thanks, I know I won't be able to roflstomp everything without ridiculous gear, but I'd like to at least be able to survive trash mobs. I made it to Alcarnus by avoiding pretty much everybody but I just don't feel like cheesing my way through content just to progress. Back to Hell Ponies!
I've seen a few barbarians recently just ignore vitality and buy gear with massive strength and all resist, trying to get up over 1000. I could see this working, since that gear is usually a lot cheaper.

Farming A2 and trying A3 at the moment. It is indeed cheaper, on my armor I spent under 5m total iirc (I got lucky with my 750 life on hit dagger though for 500k). My mentality is that the number of health is irrelevant if your damage mitigation makes it effectively much more than it is.
Yeah I was considering it, I mean I've got more Life than I need (I think I have a total of +20%, haha)

Here's my weapon by the way. It's under 600 dps, but 1.62 attacks per second, +200 strength, etc...I don't really know the formula for determing what does better DPS, this or just a vanilla 850 DPS 1 hander, so I'm not really sure how good this sword is.
It's got a little bit of life on hit, too, which is pretty meaningless in A2 so I'm going to try with a Ruby instead...
I agree in principal, but it would be hard with those stats. That's really high damage, but I have roughly the same armor, resists, dodge, etc with 28% blocking and more than twice your HP, and Act 3 still hurts ALOT.
I think you could pull off a low HP pool with really high life on hit, but you would need really, really high mitigation. The downside of that approach is that your healing from Revenge/Dreadnought is really weak.
I am stuck in act 1. I can clear act1 inferno really easy but when i step into desert I die constantly... 42k hp 300~ resistes 7,5k def 20k dmg. My resists seems low but the problem is I take so much physical dmg.
