The best defense is a good offense as someone used to say.
First, i still have trouble with some champion packs, but i believe with better gear i won't be having any trouble with them either.

I don't really like the option to gear as a tank for inferno, so i'm trying this way around it.
Dat dere glass cannon. Looks like fun pwning bosses but I'm guessing you die a lot getting down elites and trash?
Love it, im running dps barb also but u're light years ahead in terms of gear but wouldn't you benefit at least a bit from having more resists?
Also battle rage vs ancients?
How do you not die if some odd monster gets a chance to swing first?
I tried this cooldown style, but with seismic slam to clear trash from afar and knock it back so that it doesn't kill me in 2 shots (because it doesn't get to fire them between knockbacks). Eventually it seemed like the gear I would need to get it to work in the same act would be much more expensive than the gear I would need to get through as a tank. After switching to tanking, I still have some damage-oriented pieces (with more str and less vit) and act 2 have become much more manageable (as in, I can clear with less deaths and as a result overall faster even though I kill slower). I'm sure once my old gear sells and I buy more tank-oriented gear I'll be able to push even further, while with the same budget I simply wouldn't be able to pull off the cooldown-based spec.
It's not even about being cooldown-dependent, since tank spec kills so slow an elite pack takes more than 2 minutes to kill anyway, but that some elites simply get away from the earthquake and proceed to kill you, forcing you to try again (and sometimes again, and again...) until you can get them to stand in it and take enough damage to kill at least one of them. Not to mention needing 100 (or in my case 50, and even that can sometimes be a problem) fury to lay it all down. Sometimes I died between the WotB cast to the EQ cast, before IP's life steal can kick in. When they do stand in the earthquake, though, it feels insanely overpowered. Especially with seismic slam spam for extra damage while the earthquake is doing its work.
I've been stacking attackspeed which is very nice against most mobs, "kill them before they can even hit you" is the way it kind of works in between ignore pains.
Most enemies swingtimer is pretty slow aswell, which means i can run in one direction, press shift do a instant 180 and a swing at enemies, let shift go and continue running away from them. Rinse and repeat, also works pretty good against elites.
Furious Charge with cooldown reset rune is also fantastic for clearing thrash, most mobs can only take one or two hits and with it being reset if you hit five targets, you can swish-swoosh through like a knife through butter.
I can clear all of Act2 with this, i have not tried Act3. More videos will follow.
Can we take a look at your gear stats?
Also some videos of elite champ packs with crazy affixes would be great.
This is viable to some degree. Barbarians have the best burst damage in the game over 10-20 seconds, which is usually enough to kill a boss or boss pack. You still have to stack the hell out of survival stats like armor and all resist, but at least you can get by with less vitality, and it actually makes some stuff easier than a tanky spec.
How expensive and viable is this against say the WW barb?
I'm looking to level up my Barb now and would like to know what direction to be investing my gold.
Thanks
KT
KT, do you mean WW barb with shield (the one posted somewhere in this forum)?
kniffs items seem to be worth quite some gold since he's doing some crazy dmgs, but i've managed completing act2 while using 2h build which is about 15 kk on eu server.
Yes, that guy.
Both builds are appealing to me but with the incoming attackspeed nerf I'm wondering whether the WW barb would be more expensive
I'd imagine both builds are pricy however? I've got some money saved up though.
