I suppose attack speed is negligable, as you will do the displayed dps in a second (times your multipliers). So 130*.24 = 31.2%, yes that seems right to me.
Yes attack speed doesn't matter since it just scales all the numbers up (I'm using 1 for the purposes of this example).
Of course, the benefit of conviction goes up the more damage you stack. For example with Thunderclap + Windforce flurry as the third hit you're doing an average of 180% weapon damage per hit. You can then get up to a 59% damage bonus (24% combination strike, 15% blazing wrath, 18% foresight) putting you at 286% damage per hit. Multiplied by 1.3 (same speed as the deadly reach combo) you're now at 373% damage per second, so conviction gives you a 89.5%/179% passive/active bonus.
Is this how it works (using deadly reach scattered blow example, 110% weapon damage/110/170, 130% average):
dps * 1.3 ^( x cycles/second)
so 1 cycle per second is:
dps * 130%, or 1.3
and 2 cycles per second is
dps * 1.3^2 = 169%
So despite the dps number, it looks like mantra damage would effectively increase as you do more deadly reach cycles per second (130% * .24 vs. 2 cycle 169% * .24). Is this correct? Are spirit generator attack speeds independant of ias? If I get 30% bonus on each of my 6 strikes instead of 30% bonus on my 3 strikes it would yield a lot more damage yet my dps numbers on the screen would be the same.
If you want to use your dps as a starting point, then to calculate your actual dps with a generator you just apply the multiplier. So for any generator it would be character screen dps * skill weapon damage % * multiplier. No need to square anything.
Spirit generator attack speeds benefit from IAS, but they're inherently faster which is represented by an additional hidden attack speed multiplier. For example FoT has an attack speed mult of 1.45, so if your listed attacks/sec is 2 (which includes your weapon attack speed and any off-weapon IAS you get from gear) you'll attack at 2.9 attacks/sec with FoT.
