Remember the days when you were doing your millionth pindle or meph runs, and about to call it a night, suddenly an unique shako or russet armor drops. Knowing they are the better unique items in the game (not the best), you get enough energy to play a few more rounds, wondering what you might find next.
I don't get that at all in D3. I know itemization issue has been beaten to death, but really this is harming the game's replay value.
The team that worked on D2 has left blizz, thats fine because I didn't expect a D2.5. But when you strip away the little things that made the D2 great, I don't know what to say to that. The funniest part is that they took away attribute point allocation, skill point allocation, level cap all in the name of itemization (end game loot). This is SOOO broken right now that there is absolutely no point of replaying the same character over and over once Inferno has been beaten.
Feel the same way. I wish they'd throw in 50 horrible, useless mods just so that they'd exist.
Note that in the memorial day post they directly said they are addressing affix variety.
the game has been out for what? 2 weeks or so? And you expect to have the same level of magic find a character would in D2 who farms for items? No one in the game has that type of magic find right now. To think at this stage in the game you'd be boss running and getting insane items is crazy. Of course you wont, the game still has its umbilical cord for christ sakes.
What he's saying has nothing to do with magic find, it has to do with the found items being boring.
Personally, I still feel the excitement of working towards an upgrade, even if I don't know exactly WHAT that upgrade is going to be :P.
As long as I know I can still find an upgrade to whatever I'm wearing, I'm probably still going to always get my hopes up with every elite/champion/boss defeated.
There are carrots. You just don't like these carrots.
If you do a million runs of anything in high level D3. like you say you did Pindle/Mephisto (which by the way, tells us immediately you're not the normal person). and then come back telling me you still have not found carrots (regardless of if you like said carrots), then I'll believe you.
I got good items just fine with my sorcs with little mf when just starting out a new char in d2
You don't have to do the runs with no MF, I can get 5 stacks of nephalem valor in inferno playing with friends within an hour usually. 100% MF and stuff starts droppin like it's Diablo 2 and it's much more rewarding. AND we're going through entire acts of the game, having fun, completing different objectives in different environments against different enemies. Doing Meph runs etc is like pressing a button and getting a food pellet.
