So Ive learned a thing or two since D3 was launched. Ive managed to kill 3 Hc Barbarians and a Witch Dr and was starting to wonder if Id continue with playing HC. I believe Ive found the reason on accident on my latest Wd. So as you've probably noticed as you progress in difficulty and acts the potions start off small and get larger and heal more life. Well little did I know that if you have a 200 health potion and you get a 1000 health potion it doesn't auto replace it on the potion bar. So I was selling my low level pots at a merc because I was finding greater health potions and just happened to notice a big fat ZERO under my little potion icon. Opened my stash and I had like 30 of them in my inventory and I picked them up and placed them on the health potion icon on the bar. So everytime I was getting the red screen of almost deeds I was hitting an empty potion bar, it wasnt there to heal me. I feel so rediculous but I figured Id share the knowledge in case someone else might not have noticed that...
Attention to detail!!!! When progressing you should always know every detail about what is going on. Not being focused will result in... well, you know.
Of course, my dead 24 monk was from being too ambitious and not realizing how far act3 scaled above act 2. And not using the right skills...
Also don't try to save the best potions for later in the game. Now if only I can stop chasing down treasure goblins.....
Treasure goblins can be hunted but you have to judge where he is going(and almost always he runs in opposite direction of you), if he is going to get cornered its safe to nuke him down, but the best way is just to leave him be clear the area and than kill him but when you are playing with follower, well... damn overzelous Templars and their will to attack everything.
On a semi-related note I just figured out that gems have no character level requirement. That seems odd... I was looking at the sell price and thinking that was clvl. Duh! I just assumed that there must be a clvl req.
Eschew obfuscation!
You drunken. freaking. noob! It's a good thing you're awesome, otherwise I'd have to make fun of you!
For myself, I only just discovered on Monday that the blue asterisks/star over an NPC's head means that they have a new conversation to have with you... So I spend most of Monday evening running around catching up on all the optional "talk" that I had missed!
In the old days we used to get manuals with our video games that explained all this stuff...
