Did anyone think to calculate, since it's a weapon buff maybe it applies the damage and then it is multiplied with int bonus? To me it would seem logical to be so, not being generic buff (even no icon), but a weapon buff, like an enchant..
Hey folks, i did some testing on screen-dps-effect of magic weapon a few days ago (numbers here, german: http://diablo3.ingame.de/forum/akade...8#post26666143), I'll try to translate a bit of the the interesting stuff.
I just looked at charscreen-dps, "real dps" not tested yet (might be different, considering damage in the skill descriptions in D2 vs real dmg). Every Test compares dps without force weapon vs dps wiith force weapon
usage of glass cannon only:

idea: x = basedmg, A = bonus form force weapon (0,15), B = bonus from other sources (familiar, glass cannon) (=> here: B € [0, 0.27])
=> final damage seems to be = x * (1+A) * (1+A+B)
the idea and the test results seem to fit, further testing (especially with real dps) would be useful

long story short magic weapon gibes 30 % dmg instead of the stated 15 % ? ( obv runed )
This appears to be a display issue, not an actual incorrect buff.
18-25 spear. Ring with +9 minimum damage. 1203 intelligence.
Magic Missile is 110% of weapon damage.
18+9 = 27 * 13.03 * 1.1 = 386.991
Inferno Act 1, very beginning of the game, with those silly Zombies. Every single magic missile non-crit I tossed did exactly 387. No variation. Every critical did 755 with +95% critical damage.
(Incidentally, I'm not quite sure why an Inferno monster seems to have zero arcane resistance and zero defense, but whatever)
Pop Magic Weapon without Rune : 426 (386.991 * 1.1 = 425.6901)
Pop Magic Weapon with Force Weapon : 445 (386.991 * 1.15 = 445.03965)
No Magic Weapon with Glass Cannon : 445
Further info for those who care: Glass Cannon and Magic Weapon seem to stack additively. Everything else seems to be multiplicative.
Glass Cannon and Magic Weapon w/ Force Weapon: 503 (386.991 * 1.3 = 503.0883)
If they were not additive, it'd be 386.991 * 1.15 * 1.15 = 511.7955975
Zombie took 503.
Archon Strike in Archon mode is 250% of weapon damage. Improved Archon Rune is +25% dmg to Archon abilities.
Archon Strike w/ Improved Archon Rune and Glass Cannon OR Force Weapon : : 27 * 13.03 * 1.15 * 1.25 * 2.5 = 1264.317188
Archon Strike w/ Improved Archon Rune and Glass Cannon and Force Weapon : : 27 * 13.03 * 1.3 * 1.25 * 2.5 = 1429.228125
Sure enough, I get 1264 and 1429.
