I don't know, Nova is pretty mana intensive and it gets bad when you throw Blizzard in as well. Even on my non-ES Blizz/light (not Nova) sorc with 1k mana I have to use mana pots regularly at P3 and above. That said, while I wouldn't go quite as far as 2.5k hp and 1k mana, the balance could be shifted slightly towards life.
One thing you can do to lower mana use is to use static field often, and at higher player counts it's a killer when you have Infi. Round up some enemies, throw a Blizz or two and some statics from the edges of the group, them telebomb the middle and watch them melt. It's most effective in CS and isn't isn't really neccesary at P1 though.
The main reason I decided to swap over to a hybrid ES build (vita to a respectable life, then full energy) was because of the massive mana usage of spamming blizz+Nova. A small part was also the occasional death that annoyed me, taking 1-2 days of running to make up for it (at lvl 96).
With frosties and 2 SoJs, every point of energy is 4 mana. Every point of vit remains only 2 life. So i wouldn't be able to make it the opposite due to the statistical impossibility of it.
With 20 hard points in TK, every point of damage taken that goes to mana is only .75, and I have nearly 80% absorb rate with 1 point ES. The effective life is FAR higher than a normal vita build while the spike damage taken to life is far lower, plus I gain the benefits of much higher mana regen and mana pool for the massive usage of a 40+ spec nova. When it comes to mana burn, that's what full rejuvs and recovery locking them with nova is for.
Again, my build from the OP had 2k hp and 1k mana and my sorc was dying once every ~300 runs or so. With this one, I'm still going strong at 0 chickens, 0 deaths over 600 runs in since the respec. Hard to beat if you actually want to see levels over 95 or so gained through MFing.
