1k Pindle runs by a relative newb, advice welcome!

Quick update:

Decided to level up a light sorc to grind along with my coldsorc. Is she any good for area runs? Or am I basically relegated to Baal runs for all eternity? So far I've found very little on Baal but for a pair of essences. Seems good for xp (she went from 81 to 86 on Baal alone yesterday), but kinda weak for MF.

Found another Sur in AT, which means I'm only a Ber away from that Infinity...been a good motivation to play this weekend.

1,000 more AT runs in the bag, ladies and gents. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I have a three month vacation to the USA planned, so I’ve been busy.

This last 1k puts me at a whopping 2k in AT overall, with a total run time of 42 hours and 54 minutes. This, along with the HC project I’m working on, and MF runs with other characters (LFzon for Pindle and WW barb for Trav) means I probably play a little too much D2.

This time, I opted for the max MF gear suggested in this thread. I dropped Tal’s Mask and Eye in favor of a ptopazed Shako and Isted Oculus. I also subbed out my two cold skillers for six more small charms of good luck. With a perfect pair of Chance Guards, two perfect Nagelrings, a 44% pair of WTers, and a 39% Gheeds, my MF percentage reached a rather obscene value.

Running the tunnels with the Oculus takes some practice, but I think I have the hang of it. The teleport really fouled up my rhythm at first, and once I even suffered from that awful “pinball of death” situation where you’re battered back and forth between two packs of monsters, and all you can do is yell “OH MY GOD” until it’s over. But now, I can’t believe I even bothered with the full Tal’s. My clear speed was roughly the same as when I ran with Tal’s (averaged 1:09), but I got a huge boost in MF. A big thank you goes out to those of you who suggested this route. I’ll save the ptopazed mask for a future meteorb sorc I guess

Alright, not a bad haul over 1k runs. Obviously, I like all the grailers I found. I’m also fond of some of the charms and jewels. None of the rares or uniques really fill an immediate need for any of my other characters, but I’ve recently created a trade profile here, so I hope to parlay some of these goodies for some more useful items.

Of course, the Chilling grand charm and the Cold Facet were kind of ridiculous finds, seeing as I asked about trading for them in this very thread. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I no longer really have use for them, as I’ve decided to go max MF with this girl. Just thought it was kind of ironic, considering how much I wanted them before and how little I need them now.

It looks like I’ll be taking a short break from D2 while I tour the US. I’m really excited for the trip. I’ll be back in Korea, and back to D2, probably around September. By then, I'll have full trade status, and I look forward to making some nice exchanges with you fine lot. Thanks for the great tips and tricks in this thread. I hope my finds can serve as inspiration for other people new to MFing, especially for Pindle and AT.
