# Thread: One with Everything not so hot after all ?

1. ## Re: One with Everything not so hot after all ?

Our resistance multiplier is kinda iffy sadly... barbs and wizards get an easy multiplier to their all resists...

If you understand that 1 resist = 10 armor = 10 str = 10 int, then judging if using OWE is worth it is easier... You need to achieve 15-25% worth of extra mitigation (Does not mean 25->50% resists, means extra mitigation, so 50->60% would be 20% 60->70% would be 25%) to be worth the passive slot in comparison to say dual wield guardians path and resolve.

Of course having 600 extra armor worth in one affix is pretty crazy, you are giving up straight up 15%+ mitigation with a different passive and just using an assorted extra resists. I'll do the quick math a bit later to see how many resists extra you need to get with OWE to compare with the other passives.

Edit: mitigation = (resist)/(resist+lvl*5)
resist = 5*Mitigation*level/(1-mitigation)
Code:
```Resist needed
Well, that turned out better than expected... If you can get 100 resist from OWE youll already have matched resolve. Also means 1000 dex + Seize the initiative = resolve.
Edit: Even though that pretty much shows its a strong passive, it still sucks vs other classes. Like wizards +40% resists, and barbs +50% resists on skills.
i wouldnt belittle resolve. 25% worth of mitigation is only worth 25% more Lifespan if you have zero mitigation to begin with.
that being said the effects of resolve OWE and seize the initiative are multiplicative.
if i reduce the dmg of a monster from 16 k to 12k ; and my resistance + OWE reduce it by 50% and my AR + Initiative reduce it by another 50% we are only @ 3 k dmg incoming.
that is because seize the initiative and OWE only stack on what is already there ; unlike resolve and say superstition which are multiplyer in its own right. provided you can whak them before they whak you.
Ugh trying to see everything as EHP multipliers and also seeing how things go multiplicative according to damage reduction then into EHP is sorta confusing me, maybe my conclusions were wrong after all when you factor in multiple things. Need to do some more math.
Though the main point is to choose BETWEEN them, not how they stack up if you have all of them.
Edit: Your right, the %ehp gained by resolve increase as armor/resist increase.
Also by "budget" its better to even out armor and resist, so its better to have 3000 armor and 300 resist than 6000 armor and 0 resist. Aditionally at that evened out point is where resolve gives the most benefit.
So yeah... its gonna have to be a somewhat complicated conditional formula to pick between passives and whatnot.
