I'd say it depends of your wealth level, if you can afford anni, torch etc. items. They will easily boost your shockwave close to level 10, which is in my opinion definedly high enough for pvm. If you have no access to such items and if you find it annoying to constantly re apply the whirly you could put more points in shockwave.

I suggest you to try it with 1 point first thought. Well, after all, it's just a personal preference. Either way you go, it won't be the thing that makes or breaks your druid.
One point didnt seem to do much, so I've put in three and it seems to going well, so thanks for your help!

One last question, if I may... which kind of merc do you recommend? I'm still using my Rogue archer from Act 1 (I'm on Act 4)but I can see merits for a Paladin with a defensive aura, or even a barbarian. Any suggestions/advice?
