Re: (inferno) So whats your new gear plan ?

Having a really hard time finding a good belt... Currently running with Angel Hair for about 100 int, some all resists (25ish), and a little life. Hellcat might be a good option for the extra AP and regen?

Whats a good amount of crit chance? Im going arcane kiting with Seeker MM, AO Celest, Arcane Hydra, Force Armor, and Force Magic Weapon (Illusionist, Astral Presence, and Temporal Flux). Atm, I'm at 10% Crit Chance

You should be able to get 25%-30% fairly effortlessly. Max I think is ~50%? At least without legendaries/sets.

You can reach 25-30% crit with a few items. Max is higher but only if you're rich

Re: (inferno) So whats your new gear plan ?

How much Int do you guys have? I'm in act2 inferno right now in the Terminus... I kill normal mobs ok and champs take awhile; I've gotten a few time-out/'overtime' with them, which is an indicator that I'm not doing enough damage. I have a 941 2H and 15k damage/40k hp. So I needed to add Force Weapon just to keep my dps at 20k. I think my Int was around 1200... I'm not sure what the easiest way is to increase my damage ouput (not just add IAS; I'm using hydra/blizz). I only have 700k gold haha, I'm guessing I might need to farm act1 as I didn't do any farming yet. Perhaps trying to find a pure Int (no Vit) weapon might be cheaper and within my budget...

And my res is bad, ~150. With Force Armor I'm at ~4k armor. Although I really feel like the killing speed is slowing me down as I die a lot due to 'overtime's and normally I don't die that much.

    Thanks!

Re: (inferno) So whats your new gear plan ?

    UPDATE:

So I am through most of A2 Inferno.. and I am able to take about 9-10 hits before I die.

    str: 1239
    dex: 494
    int: 1731
    vit: 438

    armor:7000
    resistances: 900 physical / 600 rest

    17k Life / 44k dps

Life after kill is very under rated and works quite well. I'd like to say that if you were geared accordingly for act2/act3 it would not be as bad as everyone says it is. I still have much room for improvement with resistances on my armor and rings. Top tier defensive stats are in the 700s. The only problem is that you are going to waste your time farming act1 because you'll never really be able to find gear that will get you solid in act2. Alternatively, I think the difficultly is appropriate because it should take months to work through inferno. I just spend 60 bucks on the game. I do not want god mode after two weeks. The children need to relax, and blizzard needs to grow some balls and tell kids that inferno was designed for our true/hardcore non casual fans. If it is too difficult for you then stick to hell.

Re: (inferno) So whats your new gear plan ?

Another interesting point about crit and crit damage:

At about 18% crit / 150% crit damage, both stats become worth more DPS per affix than int. This breakpoint will change a bit depending on how much int you currently have, but it's about right for most players in early Inferno. When you start approaching the maximum possible crit/critD, both stats begin to approach the value of IAS in terms of your in-game character DPS.

We all know the downfall of IAS (needs specific signature-boosting skills: prodigy, dynamo, CM - also stats: ap on crit). The only downfall of having 400% critical damage is overkill on trash, which really doesn't matter one bit at all. If you can max both stats, they absolutely soar in value.

So you dont play with force armor ? Do you use prismatic instead ? I'm surprised you go with so low life but with 900 physical resistance it might work. How is A3 ?

I'm not playing a lot lately on my wizard since I've been hesitant at crossing the bridge and try to get resistance gear. I'm waiting for someone showing its strength (or fail to do it) in A3 and show he can absorb a lot of hits (compared to a glass canon type with force armor).

Impressive Sparkfour, I'm glad your build is still working in later difficulties...

How much did you need to spend to get your stats to that level? Did you just focus on Str/Int/Resist gear? That would certainly make things a bit cheaper as there is a huge cost savings in buying items without vitality.

Wait, is that 900 physical resistance without prismatic? Damn.
