if you are taking a beat down, you can spam mantra of healing, exploding palm does amazing aoe, crippling wave does great aoe and reduces enemy damage by 20%, seven side is your burst and can be used to teleport out of trouble, mystic ally if anything is another body for enemies to attack, and of course serenity is your "oh crap" button.
also sieze the initiative passive would put you at least 50% damage reduce if you aren't there, if you are nvm then.
the templar increases the amount of spirit generated at some level, but if you really do not like him, maybe try enchantress. she hexes and such. never looked at the scoundrel skills. all in all, the mercs are not ment to be heavy hitters.
Fist of Thunder - Thunderclap has ben my go to skill since level 6, the ability to teleport directly to a ranged mob/needs to die mob is incredibly helpful. I found that I had too many defensive choices and that my DPS was low, not killing mobs fast enough is also a way to end up dead . The rework was a bit too far a swing to offense , thank you for the feed back, I am going to try this build out: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...WTQ!ZYX!aZaZaa. How helpful is the elemental? If he is decent DPS, I can see having him as well as having a spammable heal from Transcendence.
mostly defensive, but it gets the job done. Regardless of how much damage you do in hell, there will be mobs you need to kite. I like my defensive skils Inner sanc is great for blocking door ways or trapping runners. Also a great heal.
your build looks pretty solid. maybe look into the 3 spirit per second for mantra, extremely useful!
I am liking the Scoundrel, but if I continue to have spirit issues I am either shifting to the mantra rune for 3 spirit or go back to the Templar, I am at 35 and just killed the Skeleton King in NM and nothing in the first act so far has been truly scary, though some of the Rares have actually made me use a potion and back off to refigure tactics. 6500 life, 1500 armor, Damage of 300 or so. Speed of kills would probably be slow compared to some, but the lack of "Oh ****e " moments makes up for the pace. I am looking to get 8k life and 400 Damage before I go into the Butcher in NM.
Considering shifting to this at 38, unless I find some gear way to raise my spirit generation from gear in the next couple of levels. Still aiming for 8k life and 500 Damage before I go for the Butcher.
heh, been away entire weekend, so I am still where I was, IAS does seem a very nice upgrade path, my DPS definitely needs work, I am dealing with the hits fairly well so far. Reducing the number of shots the mobs gets would be a major upgrade.
My monk also just finished normal and has started nightmare.
I really loved this build to absolutely demolish normal, its fast and fun and pretty safe, i only had one close call in act 3 where i was a bit overconfident and had tons of range mobs shooting at me which where just out of range of cyclone strike. The build starts losing effectiveness in nightmare tho, but i guess some weapon upgrades could make up for that, or swapping sweeping winds rune for more damage instead of duration.
