How do Demon Hunter's skills and life per hit work?

Mainly interested in skills such as rapid fire and strafe? Can't play yet since I'm low on funds but planning ahead doesn't hurt. So how do these work together? Does it only give once per cast or per arrow or something completely different?
    ~Thanks

As far as I'm concerned, one shot of Rapidfire is 6 of those things flying out, but only one shot will leech. Not sure about Strafe, assuming the same thing. Safer to say it is per cast.

I've been trying to see about the % life leech, and I think that it doesn't work on a lot of skills. It seems to only really kick in on single target arrow attacks like Hungering Arrow. When applied to Bola Shot, you get the leech for the initial 10 point hit (ie: nothing), but not for the explodey bit after.

Yea I messed around with this for about 5 min before I figured out it doesn't work like you want it to. Which makes sense. I mean a hit leech per hit with rapid fire or multi shot would be OP. o well. We aren't supposed to be getting hit anyway

    ARISE THREAD

I was curious about this myself and a quick look on the googles shows that the good fellas on Reddit have got this figured out more or less: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...Gc&output=html

For myself I'm thinking at least +1000 life on hit would be great at least for dealing with those freaking damage reflection mobs.

    1) Anyone knows what does the tic means on 67% for the jagged.
    2) So for the EA or Chakram , if the hit box is big enough to hit 2 times do i get a full 100% , while if the projectile travels to hits the second mob same situation do i get another 100%?

Hm..so my scatter trap on Azmodan only get 50% even all 3 goes off on him.

a tick is generally 0,5 sec worth of dmg ; however all dot spells do not really have "ticks" its more a constant drain. though the result of that damage (heal aswell) will only be displayed every 0,5 sec
