Currently on lvl 22 in normal and use bash on left click and cleave on right. However was wondering now that berserker rage is available if using Frenzy instead of bash would be more effective on single enemies?
Umm berserker rage is a flat 25% damage boost, no matter what frenzy does more damage when charged up in no matter what the case is 110*1.75= 192.5% compared to bash 150%. Bash is the better fury generator even with frenzy fully charged unless you got weapon master & a mighty weapon then fully changed frenzy will produce more, unless you take the +fury generator on bash then bash is miles in the lead.
Personally I am wondering if you meant something else like smite on frenzy or something, frenzy with smite will stun a mob for ~ the same amount of time as bash with clobber but will do more damage once your fully charged up with charges.
BTW +% damage boost skills seem to apply as an additional modifier to your base DPS damage. IE damage delt is (gear damage)*(1+stat bonus)*(1+skill damage boosts)*skill multiplier.
Personally i prefer Frenzy. There is a reason it is unlocked later, and that is its awesome crowd capability. I enjoyed cleave a lot in normal mode, but now it's all about the Frenzy+Sidearm rune.
I dislike bash because of the knockback, I like my enemies close up. Single-target it's better too (I think) because the attack speed allows me to regain life on hit and gives me a higher chance of critting.
Just my two cents.
Charged up Frenzy (especially Maniac lvl 59) is the best single target dps skill.
Bash with Instigation is arguably the best fury generator.
You decide.
Frenzy is the only way I've been able to kill anything on Inferno. I've been using it with the Maniac rune along with Berserker Rage passive and Wrath of the Berserker. That gives you 15 seconds to (hopefully) burn 1 or 2 elites off a pack and make it manageable. Providing you can survive long enough to do the damage.. lol.
