Controller Question

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone uses a controller or if it's possible to use one? i only ask because i wana buy diablo 2 again and play some before i start 3 and honestly i tried a few mins on my friends pc and i guess im used to wow alot and using the keyboard and i think using the mouse only to move is going to kill my wrist lol.

i know i tried once years ago using a controller i bought a logitech for like 20 bucks and was able to move ok in wow, but is it possible to go buy one and use it for diablo 2? thanks

I never heard about someone who uses a controller for D2. If you worry about RSI, you should take breaks, take care of ergonomics and do exercises. RSI can be very painful if you don't avoid it getting worse.

Lol so what is rsi anyways? ya i did some looking around last night after posting and i guess there is a program called xpaddle and makes it where you can take anything from your xbox 360 to ps3 controller and map them for your games. I mean i do play wow, but again i guess just moving with my left hand and only using my right wrist for clicking once in awhile i feel is fine. Just moving only using the mouse feels very odd to me still

also they did make diablo 1 ported over to playstation 1. So i do know it is possible to alter the contrlols if they wanted to. but for me at least i would find moving around alot easier with the left thumbpad versus a mouse at all times.

RSI = Repetitive Strain Injury. This could kill your wrist lol J/k. I don't think anyone plays with a controller, so you should find it out yourself. If you can use a controller, be sure to buy a controller with lots of buttons because you need at least 12 buttons: 1 - 4 and F1 - F8. Just my 2 cents

BTW, I'm not sure if D2 supports game controllers. It's more than 10 years old, after all.

12 keys aren't enough. Necromancers might need buttons for half a dozen curses, summoning skeletons, golems, revives, CE, bone armor, unsummon, town portal and maybe also teleport. Then 1234 for potions, alt key (to show loot), shift key (use skill without moving) and I probably forgot a few.
