Man down, man down! Actually, woman down - barb took the fatal blow in A3 inferno today. Still not sure quite what happened - just fighting one unique after killing all the minions. Demon soldier with reflect dmg, knockback, and freeze - nothing nasty. I somehow went from 50% hp to 10% hp just before about 6 frozen bombs went off under me and instakilled me. Very weird death and still wouldn't have played it differently in hindsight.
Anyways, the big loss was the 3 socket, 200 vit, 30 str, 75 all res chest armor :( Time to shift gears to my monk for a bit it seems.

Sorry for your loss, dude. That armor was frickin' insane!
I just killed Belial in Inferno geared like this: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/p...2/hero/8329038
I'm not sure i feel like going into A3 with this gear though as i felt i could've died if i slacked of in A2.
Anyone got any guidlines to how one should be geared to finish A3?, Also, is it better to Farm in A2 or A1 ?
Well I've made it to Keep Stronghold lvl 2 this morning. My HP is good but my damage is a bit low. Twice I had elite packs that were giving me a bit of a rough time so I hit WotB and was not able to finish them off before it hit it's cooldown. In Act II I never had that problem. Also, ran into a treasure goblin with 5 stack and was licking my lips but wasn't able to finish him off before he teleported. That's a pretty good sign I need to be dealing a bit more damage.

Eschew obfuscation!
VHD, I am sorry for your barb's death. I hope you can come back very soon.
As for me, plus my friend Shoraz, we ventured until Ghom, with a big scare in between (Mortal Arcane Enchanted Waller Boss and friends), which took me from 61k Hp to 7k and finally I saw the dreaded red screen. I thought I was a goner, for I had cooldown on WotB, IP and FC, while stuck in the walls and being hit both by Arcane Sentries (2 I think) and Mortars from some of his minions. The wall suddenly breaks down, and I get FC again so I just rocket out of there (door to L2 was right there). Me and Shoraz then managed to take a breath, wait for the CDs to vanish, and went again, this time gathering them nicely so Mortars didn't hurt, and they vanished.
We then decided to take on Ghom. His Critical Mass wizzard is superb, so I was really the problem. I dropped FC for Battle Rage, IP for EQ and Tought as nails for Inspiring Presence, and by the time I used WotB+EQ for the second time, he went down. Not as bad as I thought, but really Shoraz did almost all the work (over 33k dps, while I have 17k - not sure with Rage), and the almost perma Diamond Skin makes him close to immortal with my Cry. So Ghom is down, and soon we move on to Siegebreaker.
Cheers

No deaths so far! Still farming in act I, the gaps in my gear that I want to fill before pushing forward are:
LoH weapon + jewelry
New pants with some AR
A new shield with AR
New helm for progression
Possibly some better shoulders
I probably need around 10 mil to buy the needed upgrades. Farming has been fairly unsuccessful; my only piece of self found gear is my shoulders, everything else has been an AH purchase. In the meantime I'm breaking up the monotony of farming by leveling an HC monk (never played one before).
Killed my barb of due to lack of attention while lvling, lvl 55 at time of death, to be honest I only feel the "fun" from wiz/dh (wd to a small extent) but barbs/monks just seem so boring playwise (I had primarily barbs/melee sins in d2hc but barbs aint what they used to be now, at least for me :<)
Well some more progress. Shoraz and me breezed through A3 Siegebreaker, no big problems. Then things started to get hot, mainly because I had several "non-game problems". Twice I had lag spikes, so I hit IP and ran like a little girl, while Shoraz handled the crowd. The other was nastier, for we were facing some tough elites, arcane+plagued+waller, and I had that Charge bug where I could not move. Luckily they were down to 2 when that happened, and I had IP left and most of all, Shoraz is a beast, so he killed them very quick and my Hp went down to around 10k and it was over. Then all went fairly easy, for Inferno, and we nailed both Azmodan and the first boss in A4 (never recall the name). Soon we will continue A4 and hopefully Diablo will fall as soon as possible.
I managed to do the last upgrades I needed for my barb (chest armor and helm), so now I am pretty much as good as I can be, for I have less than 5M left. If this is enough, good, but otherwise I cannot improve any further. Crits would be lovely but those items cost too much for me at this stage. Here's my guy after the upgrades:
