HC Barbs!.. How are you guys doing?

Is there an exact armor number when Leap - Iron Impact becomes more valuable then Ignore Pain? In terms of EHP?

I am going up against Belial. You must know that I hate him and is terryfied of him. My softcore DH toon that I played to learn the game got killed by Belial on all difficulties. I had crap gear every time, the first time I just didnt know his attacks, one time I was a little drunk and I always played a little careless just because it was softcore, so that may not be any good measure. But he still freaks me out....

The only thing I worry about is my resist, but do you guys think I even have to think twice about taking him on?

When I take him on, is it something I should change in the build to better suit the boss fight?

You'll be fine. I ran the exact same build and worried myself, but it was a lot easier than I expected. I didn't worry about resists until I was into A3 and mine were definitely lower when I first killed Belial. I wouldn't even bother with Impunity until your base resistances are around 200- stick with Invigorate. For the battle, I suggest changing out Charge for Earthquake (Mountain's Call) and you can use it on either the sorcerer guy or the champs before Belial, then have it ready for his 2nd form. I've ended up perma-switching IP for Quake (with the cold/slow rune) as it makes champs easier.

In his 2nd form, I'd suggest standing to the right and quaking immediately, then either Wrath right away or when you feel you're taking some damage and want to tank/heal better. I'd just stand there and take his punches/forearm smash and the poison breath should miss, but when he sticks his arm into the ground and starts making the circular poison areas that explode, dodge them as best you can. They aren't DOT, they deal damage when they explode.

I've obviously buffed my gear considerably since I was first at Belial and I've run him a bunch to powerlevel friends, and with my current setup I can run straight to the sorcerer guy, quake and kill him almost instantly, then run right to the snake champs, kill them quickly (unless annoying mods, which might slow down my kill speed), then start the belial battle and kill his dorks and his first form before he dashes away, then kill his 2nd form in ~8-10 seconds. I reconfigure skills for this and end up having like 40k damage when in wrath form, doing crits upwards of 100k =P

OK, so it indeed turns out that the forum complaints about A2 Inferno have not been too much exaggarated. Got roughly 800 resists, 42k HP, 8.8k armor, and 9k DPS, and even the white mobs right next to the city gates are kicking some serious ***. Seems risky as hell - or should say inferno? I slay myself. Oh well...

I just dinged lvl 60 in a4 hell. Been soloing most of the time due to my friends not understanding how HC is the only way to make this awesome game last

This is my first char, still alive, didn´t play sc at the start, firstplayed my way through the game using minimal AH help. I´ve been severly undergeared the whole time, for example, in act2 NM í still had only 3.9k hps. This has actually made me play better, i´ve been finishing hell with around 30k hps and about 150 allres. Therefore i´ve learnt how to kite and to engage dangerous packs with minimal hps, using mostly skill rotations that allow me to do so without deeding. During a fight my health is usually rocketing between 100% and 20%, kinda keeps me in adrenaline shock ^^

I´m not going to kill Diablo until í get better gear, or a good team to do it with, i´m getting a bit afraid when i´m about halfway done with a4.

@lvl 53 - dead.

Had to bail out of a fight against a blue bull pack that approached me right as I put the last hits on a yellow shaman pack in A1 hell and when charging out I got stuck on a corner and got stunlocked afterwards.

The numerous seconds of watching yourself die really pissed me off. Time to level up another class though and experiment with a barb build that does not use Revenge. Dependency on the procs annoys me and I don't think I can stand another 30 hours of the same straight away again. But I guess the random life shizzle goes for all classes and the health globe drops.

I'm slowly progressing as I lost my previous Barb due to PC Freeze in almost the same place so I do really want to kill Belail this time :-)
