    So Overpower looks really lame

So I was really looking forward to incorporating Overpower with Killing Spree into my build, only to find using it makes some light shine on you a bit, while enemies near you inexplicably take some damage. I'm guessing it's bugged, because on a rare occasion I think I've seen it display a weapon swinging animation. Since it looks so lame I'm using Revenge Best Served Cold instead, but it's proc rate is quite low so in most fights I don't even get to use it.

I am not sure 100%. But maybe if you are attacking something with other skills and press overpower it won't show weapon animation? That's my guess and if it's true it's probably made on purpose so you don't interfere with other attack. Imagine you are killing monster with frenzy and hit overpower and all that time you were hitting monster with frenzy, that's very cool.

Just like shouts do not require additional animation, that means they do not interfere with other skills.

Now that said, i still really like overpower animation, one of the coolest looking skills even without weapon animation.

It really is an ability that stands out in stark contrast compared to all the other barbarian attacks which have polished, powerful animations clearly depicting what they actually do. Hopefully will be addressed in one of the early patches. It's not a shout so it's not something you should be able to while doing something else. Shouts also don't have glitchy animations that on rare occasions display a weapon swing.

If you ask me, the idea of the skill should be like Revenge, except without the requirement of getting hit, which is why it can be weaker.

Well overpower mainly used not for its damage, but for bonuses is gives with runes. That's why i personally prefer if it does not interfere with my other attacks. I just cast it to get 10% more critical change or 30% dmg reduction.

^^ What Kblav said. Overpower deals rather good damage, and if you use the aoe stun that sucks them in, you can hit 20+ targets. With the crit + damage from other skills and add in beserker rage, you can really unleash some serious damage. In Nightmare i was hitting azmodan for 3-4K with ALOT of 8-10k crits using Frenzy (probably 4-5 attacks a second). With some life leach it was enough that I could stand in his damage and just eat his attacks, essentially tanking him.

Alot of the barbs abilities have to be used in conjunction with others to make them more powerful. I see alot of barbs that are dieing alot or not making the cut and saying the class is underpowered. But they are not using an very well thought out build and using skills as powerups for thier primaries.
