Obviously it's early on, but what is depressing are the NM HELL and INFERNO affixes that seem to be unbeatable. As you might have seen and in come cases experienced, there are a few combo's that there is nothing any hero can do about it.
They've stated quite clearly that you WILL die and die a lot in Hell and Inferno. When you only get one life in Hardcore I'm trying to decide if I'm ok being in Hardcore just to reach some sort of limit (Hell maybe), because there are champion and rate affixes that there is nothing you can do except for die.
If that is the case if you play hardcore you'll never experience much of the games overall content.
I think they go so carried away with making softcore so hard due to noise about how easy beta was, that the hardcore mode just got lost in the shuffle.
In a more perfect world, if softcore proved too easy for people, then hardcore should have been their outlet. As it is, there are very few hardcore players, I believe, because it's obvious there is going to be no way to get to the level 60 inferno gear (the few sets and uniques there even are) unless you play softcore.
So, I'm still in the hardcore camp, but wanted to get opinions on if I'm right...hardcore got the shaft when softcore hell and inferno became the focus?
SC glass cannons will die. A HC character stacking vita and with a perfect defensive build might have a chance. But until more SC players start doing inferno this is all just speculation. In any case, us HC players will know more about hell and inferno survivability long before we get there.
The game seems incredibly daunting now, but give it some time and people will figure out how to beat things through experience and theorycrafting. Just look at Diablo II, builds and gear were basically boiled down to an exact science after 12 years of playing.
I think being realistically able to finish it would just make it worse, the whole point of HC for me is "how far can you get?".
I haven't even had the screen turn red on me yet in HC and I'm almost lvl50. Proper gear and proper skills is whats required. I keep asking myself when this game is going to get hard. Then again, some of the champion monsters are really tough to bring down.
There were people who were so dedicated to d2 that they beat it with random crap like, naked characters... We are a resourceful/dedicated bunch... Someone will figure out how to beat D3 HC also, one day.

It will require ALOT of gear farm and playthroughs in SC to even consider stepping in HC inferno tbh.
Finished act 1 in inferno yesterday and Im really scared of all the champion packs just before the butcher, not to mention that one wrong move or too much delay with Butchy and you are toast (the fight is about 5 mins long, after that you are dead no matter what gear/build you got).
I think he meant SC as practice.
