Well most of the people here on forums would have played online anyway, even if there was a SP option without connection.

You have no way of knowing that. Perhaps you are right, perhaps not. That is not my point.

My point is that it is likely that most games will at some point in the near future be developed as online only.
The future of gaming, when looked from an SP'ers perspective, is very bleak.
