They have excellent players, but they were terrible with respect to having a strategy which matches their capabilities. It seems that they are only able to show glimpses into what would be possible. The only reason why they shot a goal at all is that it wasn't a team effort, but a brilliant action by a single player. I guess with a really good strategy they would be a far more serious opponent. I'm usually not a friend of blaming the trainer, but what the hell is he doing with the Dutch team? Or is it more of a problem with arrogant players who refuse to adapt to a strategy of somebody else or to stand back for another player or the team?
Anyway, if Germany wins against Denmark and Holland wins with a 2 goal difference, they will qualify for the KO rounds. I think the chances are not that small not to hope for it.

I don't completely agree. An excellent player constitutes someone who plays for the team and not for his own personal self. A lot of the current players in their team are constantly trying to prove themselves, trying to be the 'saviour of Holland'. Technically they're good, but that's where it ends. On top of that, they have one of the worst defensive lines in the entire EuroCup, and that's not only because of a lack of team play.
I do believe it's odd that a team that got 27 out of 30 points during the qualification matches now all of the sudden can't seem to get one thing right though. Anyway, they certainly still have a shot at 2nd spot in the group, although Portugal didn't play bad last night, it was mostly Ronaldo who sucked.
Worst thing any team can do now is underestimate the Dutch. In the unlikely scenario that they do go through I can see them advancing all the way to the semi finals on adrenaline alone =)
Germany will certainly not take the risk of trying to reach a draw to get rid of Holland, as Denmark needs a victory, in case Portugal wins. If Germany loses and Portugal wins, they are out themselves.
I actually believe that Holland qualifies because Germany will win their third game as well and Holland will be motivated enough to beat Portugal by 2 goals. Even it Germany doesn't win, it will make the Dutch players feel better if they did their part of what's still possible by beating Portugal high enough. If they have already resigned, they don't deserve to play in the Dutch team IMO.
Of course, if Holland blows it, it would be one serious competitor less. However, maybe they can throw out a team against which Germany is notoriously unsuccessful, like Italy or Spain.

Kris, KT, how can you guys keep such a level head when this happens? Kudos to you both. Though I'm not sure our forums should be full of people like that. :(
Well I guess mods have busy days these days...
You don't stay a mod for long if you care what trolls say!
OT: Found my first Legendary yay! Hellrack. It's useless but it looks good.
Gotta say, I only came in towards the end of the D2 days but if I were you I'd make a forum change so people can't start topics until they have 5 posts or something. WHAT PART DO THEY NOT GET?
In other news, I don't really have energy to start a community stash thing here but I'd totally donate some crap if anyone wanted to?
