RL: Waiting to hear back about a job interview yesterday that went well (but not great).
D3: Wizard is level 15, Barb is 3, Monk is 2 (gonna mp with my brother's witch doctor with this one). I'm very much enjoying the game now that the servers are stable and working. Character development is too simple, though.
Played about 4 hours of D3 this morning and am pretty sea-sick. Hate it when games get me this way. D2 doesn't. I can play that without any effects. Has to do with eye tracking or something.
aitrus is back! Huzzah!
RL: Get lawnmower fixed. Mow lawn. Dig. Work out possible, not likely. I need to work out, I am getting pretty fat, but I just don't want to actually commit the time required.
D3: Don't talk to me about D3.
OVG: I've got that Assassin's Creed expansiony thingy, Brotherhood I think, and I've started that. I like it, but I've played for over an hour already and they are still in "setting up the story" mode. I want my free roam! I want it!
Nice to see you aitrus, hope you are well.
D3: Don't own it.
OVG: Playing a bear in A5 Hell in some game called Diablo 2.
RL: I missed a day, so let's keep this short (for me, I mean).
The D3 midnight release party was a bust. They said people weren't allowed to stay in the store since it was too small, so I sat out in my car listening to music. It started raining at 10:30pm. No one was really there, so I left to grab a few more drinks. Went back to the store; parking lot was full-ish by then, but it was raining even harder. So I sat in my car until 11:55, to which I opened the door to the store... and lo, there's a line of fifty people circling the store. What's more, a good 40% of them were holding D3 posters and other artwork. Turns out that when it started raining, they allowed people to stay inside and they held raffles for all that gear.
All that really mattered, though, is that I walked out of there with my CE! Tuesday and Wednesday were henceforth all about --
D3: Came home, installed, waited around for a while 'til the servers came online... and then spent a fruitless 1.5 hours trying to log in to an overloaded server. So I napped for a while. When I woke up, I found that both the US and EU servers were working, so I started playing a Barb on my local servers. I progressed up to the Skeleton King... then stopped. I knew that soon after I'd be joining FastE for an MP session, and I didn't want to spoil the plot.
Problem was that by the time FastE was ready, it was the late afternoon in England. His RL friend was invited to join us, but because the timing was so poor we struggled to get logged in for almost two hours. Further problems ensued when trying to get all three of us in the same game. It took nearly three hours, but we finally set off for the Cathedral to see what was what with the falling star.
We played for maybe seven hours yesterday (joined by a fourth for maybe three or four hours), then again for another five today. We've made it midway through Act III, and it's been a lot of fun. Too bad I've got to go back to work tonight, otherwise we would have kept going all night.
So the three of us (my Monk, FastE's WD, and his friend's Wiz) are at clvl27. Tomorrow, at least FastE and I will pick up where we left off and see where our rare shoes may carry us!
RL: Work. Bah. My son also has his first baseball game of the season, so that will be fun.
D3:Got through to maybe 1/3 of act 2 at level 17 I think. Absolutely loving my monk. Been doing full clears as best I can, unless I get disconnected. Suffered my first death 2/3 the way through act 1 :( was really just stupid and it's the only time I've been that close. I dashed into a unique boss group in a narrow corridor and I couldn't knock them back I think because they were so tight in there.
Late to the Wednesdaily... but... D3... couldn't forumise!
RL: answering the phone, over and over, and its always for the person in the house who is on holiday for another 2 weeks.
D3: Monk is 53, or was it 54? I just finished Hell A1. Sadly I've finally had to start parking boss packs (well, two). Some combinations are just horrific. Vampiric + Plagued is probably the most groan-worthy, I've had two 10-20 minute epics trying to kill those as they leech back to full health from my follower. The skill switching has its merits. I switched several skills and runes in order to cheese Nightmare Diablo to death (healed him to death), and a similar number for the last boss in A1 Hell (dodged him to death, err, and actually worked out the mechanics of that fight).
Totally impressed with how important Vitality is.
