    Running in slooooo moooo shuuuun....

I had an error free install, right? So I was happy...but gameplay is just horrible. I run in slow mation. I thnk I need to upgrade my video card, but want to run this by the experts. Here is what I have:

    AMD Phenom IIx4 820 processor@ 2.80 ghz
    8 GB RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 9100 video card.

I think it is the video card. I can't find it onb ANY of the lists, and IIRC it is an integrated card. I went into windowed mode, and my CPU never exceeded 30% and my RAM 3 GB usage.

Is is a safe bet I need a new video card? I am not up to date on the most recent tech developments.

    Thanks,
    shed

Re: Running in slooooo moooo shuuuun....

You are correct. The video card is what is holding you back, even if you manage to enter a game you won't be able to get a decent, playable framerate. You need to first check what's your power supply (how many watts) and then you will be able to know your options (if you don't want to upgrade your PSU). Also, you may want to list your case or your computer model if it's pre-built, because some case won't accept big video cards.

I think that card would need a 400 watt psu with a 6 pin power adapter.

Of the other latest cards the Ati 7750 runs at about 55 watts and doesn't need a special power connector with price just above $100.

When upgrading that type of computer it sometimes pays to ask the manufacturer specifically if that new card will work before buying.

Well, the wife allotted me $200.00 for upgrade, so I went to Mcrocente and got the EGVA GeForce GTX 550 TI as they had a good sale that afforded me the opportunity to upgrade to a 550 watt PSU. So, system will be down after supper and hopefully I can nail the tutorial tonight

    Excellent!

Using a guest pass I tested the game yesterday out on my 2gb/790gx/HD3300 onboard graphics set up and it was slomo at first too but tinkering gave mainly 20-30 fps in 800x600 minimum settings mode with a small boost using software auto overclock. Leoric's casting dropped the fps to half that momentarily though.

Fun polished gameplay but looking like Diablo 2a rather than D3.
