Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

    Level: 60
    DPS: 14k, 20k with SH 5stacks
    Armor: 3170
    HP: 47K
Resistance: 260 in most, 336 Physical, 351 Lightning

Left: Dart, Splinters or Fire. Don't like to have pure poison damage for the plague packs
    Right: Zombie Bears
1: Spirit walk with mana regen
    2: Soul Harvest, runes varies
    3:Fetish, Head Hunter rune
4: Mass Confusion , Stun rune

Passives: Fortitude (Bad Medicine when in a group), Vision Quest, Spirit Vessel

I'm currently playing with some different gear sets, trying out if 1h+shield or 1+mojo or 2h works best. At the moment I'm using 1h+mojo
I'm in act 2 inferno, but are mostly farming gear in act 1 since act 2 eats me alive atm.

Something I recently found and feel really stupid for missing is the HUGE difference mana regen does when paired with Vision Quest, Im atm trying to get my mana regen to 35 so I can cast non stop bears when everything is on cooldown.

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

Hi guys, a very interesting read.
Currently on act 2 nightmare at level 37.

Edit! logged in and checked out my details

    Stats from paperdoll

    Level 38
    Int: 683
    Vit: 330
    armour: 858
    damage: 1276.72

Resistances are 68 accross the board bar poison which is 83

    Left mouse: Firebomb with flashfire
Right mouse: grasp of the dead with unbreakable grip
1: Plague of toads with toad of hgueness
    2: Soul harvest with siphon
    3: Firebats with direbats
    4: Gargantuan with restless giant

    Passive 1: Jungle fortitude
    Passive 2: pierce the veil
    Passive 3: Spirit veil

My tactics are pretty much to let tank and templar rush in while i drop an initial grasp before firing off toad. after this its firebomb spam which pretty much lights up the screen and burns down most packs very easily. I spend alot of time watching the gargs health and grab globes to keep him topped up.
I find the giant is pretty viable right now and while he does die most of the time the summon is back up again. Spirit veil is the oh crap button for when i get mobs too close and grasp is a good distance maker.

Pretty much been rushing through act 1 and act 2. even managed to solo the butcher in two man when my partner died in the first 5 seconds. The downside is that on bosses you do tend to attack in dribs and drabs as there is alot of movement. High mob groups are actually easier as they tend to drop more health globes to stay topped up.

I know Ill have to switch builds for hell and inferno but right now this is a blast

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

    Level 60
    30k DMG
    2.43 Atk/sec
    54k hp
    3k Armor
    ~120-160 resists

    Splinter Darts
Spirit Walk (3s/Mana/Life depending on situation)
    Zombie Wall + 60% slow
    Grasp 80% slow
    Horrify 24 yards
    Confusion 45 sec cd

    PtV
    Jungle Fort
    Spirit Vessel

Kite mobs hard and cycle between slows and CC's. Try to snipe mobs off screen with darts (they have pretty long range and extend off screen).

Can farm Inferno act 4 gardens and sometimes spire.

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

Ok, so I keep hearing about inferno WDs running around with 30k damage. How do they manage this? I've got a ~500dps weapon, 1350 int, and about 7k damage. Even if I bump up my weapon's damage to 800 and get a few hundred more points of int, isn't that around 15k dps? Could one of you high damage WDs include your relevant stats?

Here's my spec, but it really only works in hell. I recommend not using it in inferno, because you have no way of getting more than one mob off of you if spirit walk is on cooldown. I'm generally either farming hell whimsyshire or dying a lot in act 2 inferno.
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...dRT!UcZ!caZZaY

    Relevant stats:
    49x dps weapon
    2xx str
    2xx dex
    13xx int
    13xx vit
    3k armor
    160ish resists

    zombie bears
acid cloud -- acid rain is chosen to coat everything with bad medicine for the benefit of party members
spirit walk -- honored guest (VQ is insufficient)
    soul harvest -- siphon
hex -- hedge magic: the healing is trivial, but none of the other runes seem better.
gargantuan -- big stinker (for bad medicine)

    Passives chosen for survival:
Vision Quest, Bad Medicine, Jungle Fortitude (currently swapped out for Spirit Vessel, actually)

I'm reaching the point where the gargantuan is useless against any elite, and while bad medicine is great utility, I party with a bunch of pansy DH who aren't getting hit enough to make it worthwhile. I'm probably going to do the following, but it's currently theorycraft:
zombie bears -> poison dart:splinter. No idea why everyone picks splinter, is it for 3 changes to proc CC effects? Numbing dart looks nice.
acid cloud -> haunt--consuming spirit. I need more healing and damage that works on the move.

dropping soul harvest (getting too dangerous to cast) and gargantuan, and picking up 2 of the following 3:
    grasp--unbreakable. need more cc.
wall of zombies--unrelenting grip. Need more cc.
    horrify--phobia. Need more CC.

    passives:
    Dropping VQ, I'm too squishy.
Dropping Bad Medicine, it's getting too hard to coat everything.

    spirit vessel -- don't get one-shot.
pierce the veil -- need more dps
blood ritual -- helps when kiting

    Thoughts on the spec?

If you stack some atk spd and have a good Mh + Oh (700-800 dps and 200-300 dps respectively), then you can reach roughly 30k dps.

get 2 rings with at least +70 vit/int (for me, left and right ring), and with +15% attack speed. its the most cheapest way to buff your DPS. its huge!

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

    Hi guys,

Just reached level 60 a day ago, and while I'm pretty sure I'm under-geared, still having a blast on Act I Inferno. I'm able to clear it without too many problems, although Butcher took me a few tries with the insta-kill hook.

    My stats are:
14k DPS unbuffed, around 20k with Soul Harvest x5
    25k HP
    100-150 resistances

    My Build:
    Spirit Barrage (Spirit Is Willing)
    Zombie Bears
    Spirit Walk (Jaunt/Honored Guest)
    Soul Harvest (Siphon)
    Fetish Army (Fetish Ambush)
    Hex (Hedge Magic)

    Pierce the Veil
    Vision Quest
    Jungle Fortitude

For me, I find that Splinter Darts make me stand in the same place for too long, and my DPS is too low to clear the mobs before they catch up to me. Numbing Darts is useful for kiting, but again it kills too slowly, and against elite packs where 4 of them jump up on you at once its difficult to slow all of them.

For me, Spirit Barrage is one of the most underrated skills in the game. It is relatively cheap, especially with the mana return rune, and Rush of Essence if you choose to get it, and hence with a Vision Quest build I never run out of mana. More importantly, however, is that it can be fired over obstacles such as walls, and is relatively mobile compared to Splinter Darts, and I find my kiting ability greatly improved.

Zombie Bears is there for the massive AOE damage to clear out waves of normal mobs. Even in Hell equipment, I can clear most mobs in Act 1 with one or two waves of these bears, and simply Barrage the rest down. The low range is a downer, especially against Elites, but I find that shift-clicking really helps. It calls up a wave of Bears that will crash into the incoming Elites, while you continue running away.

Spirit Walk is a must-have for any build. I'm using Honored Guest to regen mana without having to always proc VQ.

Soul Harvest and Hex are awesome abilities for the healing, not to mention the damage buff and CC. Can't be too greedy with SH though, since even normal mobs burn me down quickly in Inferno.

I chose Fetish Ambush over BBV since BBV limits my kiting ability. FA is great for times when you are being swarmed, and those little things distract the mobs, giving me uptime to cast Zombie Bears and whatnot.

Honestly, I went into Inferno with a great deal of trepidation after hearing what some people had to say. However, I found that that Act I at least is manageable for us WDs, and it just takes a bit of patience and skill. And to all those not yet in Inferno, have fun experimenting with different builds! I went through over twenty drastically different builds from Normal through Hell, and found that each had its own strengths.

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

    Name: DirtNasty

    Lvl: 60
    Dmg: 18k
    Attack Speed. 1.81
    Resist: 200-250
    HP: 20k
Act: Just killed Butcher in Inferno. So next login will be Act 2!
    Skills: ATM
Poison Dart - Splinters - LMB
Locus Swarm - Pestilence - RMB
    Spirit Walk - Honored Guest - 1
Soul Harvest - Soul to waste - 2
Grasp of the Dead - Unbreakable Grasp - 3
    Hex - Hedge Madgic - 4

    Jungle Fortitude
    Bad Medicine
    Spriti Vessel

For BOSSES i change to a BEAR build. Just for notice.

Gameplay: Im always looking for 5 stack Harvest. The i use Locus Swarm and slowing them with Grasp and then spam the Poison Darts. Hex with HM has helped me alot. It gives me heal and it can also make the hard mobs to a chicken
This build have worked like a charm in ACT 1 Inferno for me. (Solo playing)

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

Currently level 51, in Act IV NM.

Well, a bit of shopping, and I now have a pickup radius that virtually covers the whole screen!

First thing I noticed is the mana-intensive, high damaging attack the WD has available all seem to be range-gimped! Bats, zombies, both only seemed to travel a few yards, not very useful at all! They also didn't kill enough to pay back the mana in time.
In fact, splinter darts is still the most useful primary attack. This also means I can keep using PTV for extra damage.

I have worked on the build a bit, and ended up with this:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XUj!TYW!aaabab

Open to suggestions for any changes, I need the fetish ambush to do clearing damage when a large number of monsters suddenly get too close. It is a great pity Tribal Rites doesn't work, hopefully they'll fis thix soon!
I was using Zombie wall, but switched to Mass Confusion as I found the wall was not so useful in the open areas if Hell, will switch back if I am in narrow corridors.

Re: Whats your LVL, DMG, ACT and SKILLS/GAMEPLAY Style your running?

    Level 53, ~halfway through A1 hell.

Been having fun with this build
    dart - slow rune
    Spirit barrage - phantasm
Horrify - (rune gets changed often, haven't fixed on one yet)
    Soul harvest - +mana rune
Hex - hedge (probably going to be changed to spirit walk pretty soon)
    gargantuan - big stinky

fortitude, spirit vessel, rush of essence

Old stinky tanks trash mobs pretty well and holds them in phantasm death spiral. Any stragglers get darted and slowed and a phantasm dropped between them and me, forcing them to run through the phantasm. Once they get close enough (and usually chicken-ified) then they get harvested and scared back through the phantasm with bonus darts in the back.

It's been fun up until now, but starting to look lackluster vs. tougher packs.
