Are you guys going to trade in the Realm subs or with SPF'ers here? Do you want a thread for it?

Still undecided. There're a couple issues involved...
Let's say you decide not to trade in realms, but mps with someone who trades. You'll be finding gold and items with the help of someone that trades. (Like sorta-kinda-ish entering open bnet and fool around with and SP character and the D2 SPF trade rules).
That said, I'll wait and see:
- How necessary "the others" (aka, non-SPFers from realms) are on hell/inferno;
- How necessary trade is (it's difficult to store a grail, maybe you can do it with self-found items easily and really don't need to trade in realms, etc).
- Big etc.

That's why I plan to play solo, self-found and see what happens as long as I can, instead of deciding if I will MP/Trade only with SPFers, with others and SPFers, etc.

Anyway, I believe it's important to have a thread, at least for the profiles. That way one could know if the person he's/she's trading with trades with "others", only within SP, etc and decide if one wants to trade or not. (We could even have a tag system like on d2 - [SPF only], [Realms], etc.).

I'm depending on close RL friends. If they don't start to ask me to MP, I would be more than happy trading only with SPFers, but wouldn't mind if they trade in subs/mp with "others".

I don't think a system like we have set up in the D2SPF would work, but it would be nice to have something for the community to post in. We tend to live sheltered Diablo lives

Well, I was thinking we could have a 'Red Cross Thread' where people can post if they need an item, and we can give each other good deals/free

Well truth be told I'd be really skeptical to trade with anyone other than SPF members. Problem with that of course is , the game being so MP oriented and as BaronScarpia pointed out we don't really know yet how dependent we will be on others during the late stages of the game, I'd say I'd like to go self-found for as long as I can.
The real problem is how we would be able to regulate such an endeavour. I suppose it will be done the same way the SPTF worked , based on trust between the community.

I will be mping with RL friends and likely using the gold auction house (but not the real money auction house).

Trading on bnet in D2 was a huge hassle. Hopefully the auction house will more or less solve that.

The only reason I would choose not to trade with random players or on the auction house would be concern about duping, but I don't think that will be a problem. With the RMAH, Blizzard will have to keep items legitimate.

It seems to be there would be little to no point in having an SPF trading community unless it was strictly contained within that community, which I'm guessing is not realistic at all. If people go outside the SPF to trade, the community gets "tainted" by the whole server anyway. At that point, what's the point of having a SPF specific trading community? Might as well trade like everyone else, no?

"Taint" is going to be far to hard to manage for anyone to consider it as a measure of trade worthiness. Either trade, or don't... but don't try to maintain that items are free of taint. The community is too integrated by the nature of the program... what one person does affects all of us. Blizzard even claims they will be doing "hot tweeks" to keep play mostly uniform.

I wasn't thinking of something as strict as the D2 SPF trading. Frankly, it would be impossible to police.

However, if there were a number of SPFers who would prefer to trade here, then I'd open a thread for them; similar to the MP thread (which doesn't look like it's needed at the moment.)

It's a learning experience as we see how the SP community interacts with the mainstream Bnet community. (Or doesn't as the case may be.)

EDIT:
I don't think the RMAH is going to make Blizzard keep the bots/hacks/cheats out. There's plenty of games out there with an item/RM currency interaction and still have bots etc. However, I think that's another discussion/another thread.
