Hi Everybody.
With Diablo 3 only hours away, I thought It would be a good time to say that, Honestly, it has been an honor to be a part of this great community and also a part of this beautiful thing known as Diablo franchise. Today I was sitting and thinking back to the time all those years ago when Diablo 1 came out, and how scared I was of that game while my older brother used to play it. Then there was the time that I first heard that they were working on Diablo 2, since I was young, I did not care much. After some years I got to play that game, and I still remember the first Paladin I made. The first time I saw that any armor you equipped was shown on your character was the coolest thing ever. It was a better world to live in then, and still being young, there were no worries.
Then the world changed in 2001 after 9/11 and being a Pakistani, it became harder and harder to cope with the change that was so rapidly coming after US moved into Afghanistan. But even in those times, one thing that remained same and welcoming for me were Diablo games. Blizzard always remained somewhat of a beacon to me, especially Diablo. Time went on and on, and I remeber my first multiplayer Diablo game with my friends from school in 2006. And finally in 2008, a really great treat Diablo 3 was given to look forward to. Since then many things have changed, but one of the most sad changes came in 2010, when there was a terrorist bomb attack near our college, from which I escaped, and have since grown somewhat numb towards the word Humanity, but that numbness is greatly cured by this excellent site diabloinc and the great community of it's users. Meeting people who are interested in the same thing as me, all the while respecting you for what you are is nothing short of a gift.
Though I have not been here for a long time, there were times when some people, made fun of my religion and country simply because of where I came from, it was always amazing to see that the first people to oppose such racist people were not my own people, but others from all around the world, proving that the world is still full of noble and decent people like You all.
In the end all I would like to say is that, Video games, especially Diablo is a series that brings people from all over the world closer and knit them in a bond of friendship and love. I hope that we can make this world a better place to live in and be the saviours of Sanctuary at the same time. Hope to see you all on battlenet. And again, It's been an Honor.
Here is to:
Blizzard, Flux, Elly etc, the Diablo community & DIABLOINC.
Regards,
DiabloBaal (Ali Zafar)
peace from
Pakistan.

I liked this. You are definetly right on, when it comes to the point about videogames are good for bringing people together.
Good memories. Good times. It has been pretty cool following this development cycle. Now for me, in Chicago, the release time is only 17.5 hrs away but I will be sleeping. Old man, I know...
But it has been fun and to think that there will be very little guessing about content tomorrow. Very little guessing about the game at all, at least until an expansion is announced.
Rose: You're an alien? You sound like you're from the North.
Doctor: LOTS of planets have a North!!!
yeah just think, tomorrow at this time, these forums will be like a ghost town.
I'll be here. I'll let you know. I will bet just the opposite.

I would like to join DiabloBaal in thanking this community for all the great discussions over the years, all the admins for their hard work, fmulder for posting lots and lots of interesting links and Risingred for all the datamined stuff he posted. You guys made the wait for D3 bearable. I'm just few hours away from picking up my copy and I'm afraid I may disappear from the forums for a couple of days. Enjoy the game everyone, I hope to see you guys in Sanctuary.
