I was also looking into a "full-fury" build today. You can also throw in earthquake with the rune that removes fury cost. The passive that stops your fury degen could potentially be useful here as well.
Dunno after playing with barb up until hell i think that the only good viable fury spender is seismic slam. It's just way better than other fury spenders. For example i don't get rend at all. Its damage is non existant, so why do you spend fury on that thing? And you can't spam it, because it does not stack, right?
I don't get rend, but hammer of the ancients is still a pretty decent AOE (with first rune) but much more damage per fury and more damage per second too.
This is my current build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...VgT!ade!aZZaZZ It's not a completely non-fury spender, but it almost could be with some modification. I might play with the idea later, but at the moment, I don't feel like I really need more damage, I just need survivability against the harder difficulty level boss and champion packs in nightmare.
EDIT: Heh, realised I didn't actually reply to the previous two posts like I meant to. Rend is awesome, constant life-leech, and plenty of damage if you play it right, stomp sucks 'em in, rend starts off the damage and life-leech, threatening shout builds rage and removes some danger, then if in an uber-boss pack, earthquake goes down and everything dies, or in less boss packs, cleave away for a couple swings and everythings dead anyway.
No criticism intended here, I'm loving how everyone's builds have come out very differently.
The point of rend, is how powerful it becomes when you get 4+ mobs ticking and you use the health return rune. With A shield, revenge, Frenzy (health regen rune), Rend (regen rune), and WarCry (regen rune) I can literally take on 20+ mobs. I use Earthquake and Stun Aoe (cant remember the name atm). I will switch in ignore pain for earthquake on a particularly nast pack of champs.
Since I have run this spec, even with subpar gear its near impossible to die unless I have been Stunned/Frozen and just ram rodded by something. It may not kill as fast, but personally i think its actually faster because I dont spend nearly as much time running back as I was.
My non fury spender build. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...SVX!cgb!YaZZaa
Only rage used skill is rend. Just finished up Diablo in nightmare, going to bed though so haven't got a chance to try the build in hell yet. Can imagine first act at least will be very easy. Using a slow 2 hander(works better with revenge and gives big rend damage), damage is extreme for my lvl(50) I would imagine.
Kept the build against all bosses sofar otehr then nm Diablo. Switched to frenzy instead of bash against him. But for general pvm frenzy doesn't work since the playstyle for the build is to not stand still and tank but to jump in and out with charge and leap and kite hard mobs while rend ticks, frenzy charges will be lost with that in mind. Bash with rune gives 12 rage per hit so good for slow hitting 2h weapon.
Ok so, i kinda estimated well (for my gameplay at least)... there's no room for fury spenders. Currently lvl 59 Act 3 Hell, Azmodan Quest.

I mostly play with a wizard, but when i'm solo sometimes i switch Ignore Pain with Seismic Slam and Nerves of Steel with Relentless or Juggernaut. Sword and Board.
I personally run a berserker rage build that does not involve any fury spenders, because I do find the spenders lackluster. I switch out revenge for HotA with 270%dmg rune for single target boss fights, but most of the times i don't even bother.
awww, why do you say that? I really hope it stays as is. My (somewhat sloppy) playstyle is so dependent on it right now. Basically I Ground Stomp mobs with the extension rune which also pulls them in closer. The I Cleave them while they're stunned and build up some fury. When they come out of stun I start Whirlwinding them which gives them free hits on me and activates Revenge (most of the time). Then blammo! Most of them die or get reduced to one-hit health. Another Cleave with the explode on death rune finishes off any survivors in a blaze of glory. Feels really powerful and satisfying!
Amen to this, the only fury spender I have ever liked was rend, but I find it very underpowered with a 1H weapons compared to 2H.
I find that a non-fury spender build with berserker rage has some very good synergy and I find it enjoyable to play.
This is my current Act 1 Inferno farm build:

I am going to drop Overpower tonight and swap it out with Wrath of the Berserker with the Insanity rune.
My gear is at the point where I can faceroll everything in Act 1 and anything that will add DPS is welcome, currently sitting at ~16,000 dps with frenzy stacks at 5 and full fury.
I think the only thing we are giving up with a non-fury spender build is AOE, but I do not need any AOE at the moment since I can clean up large packs of normal mobs with a couple of revenge procs + a overpower for giggles. Champion packs I would much rather have strong single target DPS, wich is what my build provides.
