-I've always preferred to rely upon my own wits/devices while playing Diablo. Ever since the first one. It's just my natural state of play.
-Others don't tend to play the way that I do. I like to full-clear areas, open every chest, yadda yadda. People on Bnet tend to speed towards the goal, while I'm the slow, plodding type who likes to identify every magic ring drop, constantly return to town and futz with stuff, etc.
-I *have* played a good amount of MP on Bnet, engaged in a bit of trading, participated in leveling runs, etc... but all of the D2 that I played over the last year or two was strictly SP, non-trade or MP... I still raised a bunch of characters to lvl 89-ish and at least a couple of characters to lvl 94-ish and found some awesome crap. I guess this goes back to my first point, because finding a bunch of awesome random stuff and crafting a viable, powerful, original character from it is some of the most rewarding Diablo gameplay for me.
I wanna find a happy medium between my hermit-like tendencies, and the online-only nature of the game. I really don't like that aspect, but I still want to play. I guess we're all in the same boat.
Not really. Hang out in a few game chats for long and it's pretty clear that the internet is where the scumbags of society spend their free time when they are not busy being scumbags in the real world, provide that they have the guts which in most cases they probably don't.
Thankfully, this site is pretty civilized.
SP for me because like others I like to take my time and go at my own pace. bNET was not a very welcoming place, unlike these forums. I was mocked one time that I dared to hunt ears on the Blood Moor with my Orbasorc. Plus I like getting all the WPs and doing fullish clears so I know my chars can handle whats coming up. I guess there's a small control freak in me and in all of us.
Just don't like to rush too much or take it too slow. I like my own pace and no one elses...
