Yea, he only had like an hour after launch and couldn't get on I think.
Ah, that sucks. I hope they sort the server issues out fast.
I think they've sorted them rather quickly, I imagine NA will go much more smoothly.
Here is hoping, nice that those Euros were a test case
@Baron - I think a lot of vegetarian/vegans take suppliments (but many meat-eaters do as well for different things) - I haven't heard for calcium though. It is just simpler to supplement in most cases. Vegans wouldn't get any calcium from milk/cheese/dairy (which is where I get most of mine from,) but I haven't heard of that before, so can't comment on the vegan side. The two main I hear are:
From meat-eaters - protein. This one I hate, because the average human diet doesn't need a lot of protein. Many RDI's say about 50-55g, others say ~0.8g/kg (from memory it was somewhere around there, maybe a little higher) body weight. Two eggs (one serving) have 10g, cheese 5g (very often one slice of the tiny plastic cheese, so the stuff I cut up has to be more,) some breads 5g, cereals, pasta, rice.... The list goes on.
Iron however is much more difficult to get from a vegetarian diet IMO, however, not hard if you look out for that. Personally, I have never had a problem with iron, although in all honesty, mine is probably on the lower side, but still not bad.
I think people converting from meat to vegetarian (even temporarily/detox) struggle, because it is a major change to their diet, and they often only change one part of the diet - cutting out meat. The body has adapted to getting nutrients from meat which they wouldn't get from their normal vegetables/non-meats. So without the big serving of meat, their other foods don't provide enough iron or protein. A lot do say they lose weight, and as above, I think it's because without the meat, they don't get the nutrients because they don't change their whole diet around.
My understanding was the biggest potential problem for vegetarians was iron. Protein is not particularly hard to get and most people seem to think you need to eat more protein than you do (maybe because of low carb diets?)
You could get your daily intake of iron easy with a multivitamin tho.
Where is the pill for people that don't eat vegetables?
I love veggies and fruits. I love meat, and carbs as well. I just love food in general I guess, I'm not that picky.
Actually, the same multivitamin dudzy told could work (not that recommended). Main problem is waht you replace vegetables with.
I eat vegetables. Sorta. Couple fruits here and ther, lettuce, etc. I can stand cooked vegetables, they are too sweet to mix with food, imo...
