Thanks for hosting! fun game. Mafia got odminated. Kestegs had a good run, cant believe Solar wasnt lynched!
Good game, but I'm going to need everybody to just avoid eye contact for a few weeks, and try not to speak to me if nobody else is around.
Oh, and I would just like to say, for the record, that kegs was the only one that had me fooled. I knew Solar was dirty as it gets, but I was avoiding voting for him immediately for fear it might look as though I protest too much. Shoulda just done it. Bah.
I never thought of that possibility, somehow. I was so wrapped up int eh idea that SOMEONE needed to be lynched, or we would lose. I forgot it was possible to not lynch someone and not lose. Given that scenario I definitely would have gone for it if Coju wanted it to be that way, too. However, in my mind, if Coju was killed, it was still be a 50/50 shot for me to choose the right target, and likewise for Coju. I don't think Solar would have killed Zemaj because it would be too obvious, and I do think that he would have killed Coju, to leave me, the noob, left to make the decision. Of course this is just what I think would have happened given that scenario. Thanks for letting me know, though. It could definitely be important in a future game.
@pcm, weren't you fooled by JCakes, too? Not that it was such a bad thing in that case.
Pcm...lol. You did well, nothing to be bad about.
I decided to play my roll and spam the crap out of the thread, I thought it was a fun tactic. I was hoping eventually we would nk kestegs and I could steal his roll and fake a post restriction.
Most of the time I was trying not to NK the people that were suspicious of me. Guess I was not too subtle :P
My N1 targets choices were between you, Jcakes and Goryani. I was really kicking myself later for not NK'ing Goryani on N1 but then after reading the Mafia topic, saw that I was on the chopping block for them a couple of times and if it was not for Gory giving me heat I may well have joined you in the Dead thread far sooner in the game. :P
Thanks for hosting FoE! It was nice to see a more traditional game where good ole' fashioned scumhunting was more important than power roles. I think we've been corrupted with power.
Congratulations Solar Ice. I wished the mafia tried to kill you but I suppose a cop and bus driver can be just as much of a threat as a SK can. That claim was something else. It could only fit the coju role, and you got lucky by killing off the coju role.
I thought the stories were, in general, more confusing than helpful. There were, without question, some hints hidden in the kill stories. There were also, without question, some fake hints hidden in the kill stories. The real hints seemed random. The fake hints seemed random. The Mountain Dew Serial Killer was fingered in only 2 of his 6 kills. The stories which sounded like a bus driver was involved had no bus driver, while a bus driver was involved in stories which didn't sound like a bus driver was involved. Sometimes there was a hint that the victim was townie but most of the time there were no such hints. Gwaihir chatting during the night was a red herring. Gwaihir associated with outside the SPF was a red herring. Dropping hints is an alternate form of presenting information to the players and should be treated as an informational role. I'm not sure if there was a predetermined process whereby the hints of the kill stories were decided. As I said, they seemed more random than deliberate.
Game Balance:
I now see the reason for "only" 4 mafia. Village idiot's don't count as town. Treestumps generally don't count as town as they can't help town lynch scum. Eleven townies vs 4 mafia vs 1 SK is actually skewed toward the scum side. Day start plus the traitor help balance things out.
@kestegs - Did you have any reservations faking a doc claim with a SK on the loose?
@pyrotechnician - I think this is the first game I've seen a treestump role be available but NOT used. The winner faked a role name which could/should have been protected from death. I blame you! [not really, but it's still fun to say]
@FoE - Why did the mafia kill on Noodle fail the night Noodle died?
From mafia QT:
My pressure on Solar Ice on D2 garnered zero actions from the rest of the town. Something like 6 players said they agreed with me but none did anything other than say they agreed with me. I'm not one to willfully walk to school through a blizzard uphill both ways. I'm also suspicious of sucking up (and for good reason, the first two panderers were mafia). When I see sucking up, I want to see if they believe enough to take the lead or if they just want me to forge ahead again.Originally Posted by Bad Ash

On Day 4 (or whatever day that was before I got night killed) I put some serious thought into claiming, but figured I could probably last one more day and keep my voting power since I wasn't putting extreme pressure on anyone and there were probably more pressing targets for a night kill then me. If you actually scour the thread enough there was a point that I did breadcrumb my name but of course I'm not going to tell you where since obviously no one picked up on it. You can blame me for it thats fine, two losses due to pyro playing and both to the SK! Wooooo! I'm on a roll.
^And a double post to top it off!
Actually, I didn't really understand what the point of the treestump is. I read the pm, and it just sounds like a useless body that is free to discuss whatever they want, and that's about it. Would it not just make it harder for the town to get majority vote on something, as well as giving the mafia and sk one less target to even have to think about?
