Hello,
this is my idea of a possible petless build to play in HC (i'll only play HC).
I'd really like your opinion on the build, because a petless WD will be my first HC character
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...Xed!ZVW!bYYaaZ
Explanation:
1- Poison Dart with rune to gain mana every hit, in order to deal some damage and as a mana filler
2- Grasp of the dead for some enemy control, in order to cast effectively this...
3- Acid Cloud, modified for more damage
4- Horrify, for those situations where 2 and 3 fail to slow and kill
5- Haunt for damage and heal
6- Soul Harvest to increase damage and healing in moments of panic
Passives:
1- Jungle fortitude.....it's a HC character, so less damage taken is always good
2- Spirit vessel, for the lower cooldown on horrify and the life saver ability
3- Pierce the veil, for more damage
So should have +20% damage from Pierce the veil, +damage and healing with Soul Harvest,
single target damage with dart and haunt, area damage with acid cloud, slowing enemies, panic them.....
All the best

You still use Hex, not so petless now.
Lol....you're right....somehow i never imagined Hex as a summon...my mistake.
Will modify the build accordingly
Hex is not really a summon or a pet. It hexes one target periodically, but the summoned shaman don't do damage and can't be attacked. Gameplay-wise it's better thought of as an offensive aura with a limited duration and a cooldown. If you care about the visuals as well, then it's indeed a pet.
The only "true" pets of the WD are the dogs, the Gargantuan and the fetishes.
Hardrock is correct
if its not affected by Jungle Fortitude, then its not a pet
I would suggest you to pick spells/runes that either favor high DPS weapons (regularly 1h+offhand) or max weapon dmg (most likely 2-h weapons). I ll quote myself from another thread:
http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...=1#post8301400
so try to pick spells who either do "dmg over X sec" (2h) or "dmg for X sec" (1h+offhand). Otherwise your spells would not do optimal dps for your gear(itemlvl & stats).
