Hey guys,
I understand that each difficulty level in released in tiers.
I.e. You need to beat normal to unlock nightmare etc etc.
My question is however, is there a way to revert back a difficulty?
I mean, Bashiok stated that farming hell would be necessary before even thinking about venturing into inferno. So if I said yeah I want to go Inferno Act I. But I get well.... slaughtered, can I go out of that current game and revert back to hell Act IV difficulty to farm up gear?
This may be a very obvious question but I haven't seen this mentioned, if at all.
After you beat a difficulty it unlocks the next difficulty.
You will be able to select which difficulty you want to play on from a dropdown box on the quest select screen.
a follow-on question: in d2, when looking for games, you could only "see" games that were of your highest level. i.e once you finished NM and entered hell, you could no longer see NM games. you had to have a nm mule to be able to scout games in NM. curious if that will that be the case here as well. guess we won't know until someone makes it out of normal
I expect that you'll simply be able to set your difficulty level (and quest progress) however you want before clicking the button to start (or be matched in) a game. There was a section for selecting difficulty along with selecting your quest progress in the beta. It wasn't functional there, for obvious reasons, but I expect you'll just be able to set both however you like in the full version.
Short answer: You should be able to select whatever difficulty you want (that you've unlocked) when you start or join a game.
