    Re: Inferno Build

    Here's my inferno act 1-clearing build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aRQlXT!Yac!YZabZa

I have a blue 710ish dps 2-h Xbow, around 16k total dps, 2100 armor, 140ish resis, and 23-27k hp (I swap a piece of gear with heavy vit on it for butcher so I don't get oneshot if I miss the SS on his aoe).

Basically this build is all based around kiting. Kite, Kite, and when you're done kiting, kite some more for good measure. There are some mobs that I have difficulties against still (the Frog Elites definitely), but most mobs I don't have a problem kiting with 0 to few deaths. Basically against big groups its multishot/frost shot until they die (I might try Twin Chaks at some point, since its cheaper, but hate really isn't a large problem with this build), and against elites just alternate Frost Arrow and Hungering Arrow, making as large of a step back as you can between each shot. When something gets close (or you get walled, or are about to get hit by a mortar), pop SS, run as far away as you can, and restart the process. I love the stampede rune on rain of vengeance here because I feel its more reliable than the Flying Strike rune, you get more breathing room with it, AND it does more damage. The spider companion is used over the bat companion for the extra slows, to keep things off of you when you can't frost arrow, and really, because this build doesn't have much of a problem with hatred regen (I use the templar with the hatred regen on him, so this could be partially why).

Butcher is just more of the same, your main single target damage here is Dev Arrow, so use it as much as possible, using Frost to kite when your Templar is dead, and Smoke screen to avoid the fan aoe or get to the health pools if you get hit by it. Keep moving to avoid charge/pudge pull and you're good.

One question I have though, is there solid math on if Devouring Arrow or Puncturing Arrow is better? I have a decent amount of crit, so I just like seeing the big numbers on DA pierces, but PA might be better overall.

Another thought is ditching Multishot for impale to give higher single target damage, but it would only be useful on bosses like belial because you spend most of your time having to kite mobs with frost arrow anyway, and you don't have the extra hatred to spend on imaple usually while you're doing this.

EDIT: Oh and about the passives, Imo Tactical Advantage is a requirement for this type of build, Steady Aim is the best damage buff available, and the last slot can really go to anything you like, more damage with cull the weak (or Archery if you're using a bow), or Sharpshooter maybe if you're going a heavy crit damage build, or finally Night Stalker could be worth trying if you have a decent amount of crit already, to make your kiting that much safer.

My build. Clearing act 1 inferno solo with this, not skipping elites, I'm almost up to butcher. Currently I found a good 2 hander, but I prefer hand xbows. Since I am using a weapon with a high base damage, I opted to use flying strike as it benefits a lot more from 2 handers than one handers. Otherwise I would swap it out for something else.

As for gear, apart from the 620ish dps 2-hand crossbow I have +18 discipline from my cloak and quiver to buy as much time as possible with smoke screen.

    Re: Inferno Build

Im in act 3 inferno atm, close to ghom and im using the following build:
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...PXT!YTe!cc.cZZ

Everything from act 2 on will 1 shot you 9 times out of 10, so im mostly stacking dps and ignoring vit, etc.
Without sharpshooter im sitting at around 28k dps and 22k life.

So far belial was the hardest boss to come accross due to the adds.
I killed him with the following build:
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...jXT!XTe!cc.YZZ
I also geared up abit of extra + disc items for it which brought me to 46 disc.
This allowed me to be in smokescreen for almost the entire duration of the fight while nuking him down as fast as i could.

    Re: Inferno Build

Smoke Screen with Breath Deep rune and Preparation with Battle Scars rune WILL be and is a must from Act III nightmare, onward. You can mark my words on this.

The rest, however, is really up to you and will depend on what items you are working with as well as your style and pace of play. For hatred generator I am currently switching off between HA with SS rune, or Entangle with Justice is Served rune. For spenders, I go Rapid Fire with WF rune for both single target and aoe dps, and switch off between Chakram with Razor Disk rune or Multi-Shot with Fire at Will rune. Impale with Chemical Burn rune or Elemental Arrow with Frost Arrow rune for bosses. I will switch out multi-shot every now and then for Rain of Vengeance where I am in wide open areas with huge packs of monsters.

The passives are still what I am experimenting alot with, though I really dig Brooding with almost all builds.

    Re: Inferno Build

I've become a big fan of Rain of Vengeance with Stampede. The damage isn't bad, but most importantly it does a ton of knockback, which is great for getting champions out of my face. At least, it does that in NM/Hell, I haven't gotten to Inferno yet.

    Re: Inferno Build

Well, i just killed diablo on inferno with the ss/prep build.
Killed him in about 5 minutes, stacked alot of crit which resulted in a pretty high SS uptime.

Was running around with 6k health and around 25k dps without sharpshooter. Crit chance of 45%ish without sharpshooter.

    Re: Inferno Build

First post here, so hello everyone!

I've been playing Demon Hunter and i've used this build to farm act 1 inferno ~ http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XjR!aeT!aZbZYa

I noticed everyone uses Steady Aim instead of Tactical Advantage which makes a lot of sense because of the HUGE DPS increase. Theres a pair of really great boots on the AH that would be a dps increase but have no movement speed built into them. I also own a pair that decreases my dexterity by about 40 but gives me 12% movement speed. My current boots don't have movement speed but i've used Tactical Advantage so I haven't really felt a need to have movement speed. Ill be making the switch to Steady Aim but i'm curious do you guys use movement speed on your boots?

Smoke screen might be a bit ridiculous.

    Re: Inferno Build

If they nerf it DH becomes absolutely useless. I didnt use SS till inferno and I can tell you that hell was difficult using only vault and calltrops. The difference is though, that monsters could hit you 1-2 times in hell before you die, while in inferno >act 2 EVERYTHING one hits you (40k dmg minimum).
