Completely offtopic but Subjugactor is actually a mob that consists of a rider and mount, interesting.
Armaddon looks badass.
You just can't get away from big numbers in a game like D3 unless you completely change how things work (say, knocking off a zero every difficulty). You'd have too little 'resolution' to fine tune the difficulty at some point, depending on where you nip and tuck to get rid of the fat.
Don't forget that armor rating in D3 decreases damage taken by percentage. I don't how many % the cap is, but I take it having at least 40-50% damage taken reduced is going to be mandatory for inferno.
The mount looks huge, the rider should be some sort of devil knight I guess.
Wow the Amarddon looks badass than anything in the other Diablo games so far, Act 4 is really gonna be epic O.o
Looking forward to killing these things, the screenshots are huge spoilers btw, because you can also see the maps that they spawn.
Yes. It allows fine tuning in higher difficulties, and creates the need for a minimum amount of gear in order to advance. If you don't have enough health, enough resists, enough whatever, you can't survive the monsters in the next difficulty. If you don't have enough damage, you can't kill them before they kill you. The higher numbers actually provide flexibility in terms of design.
I did want to own the Marshall amplifier that had a volume knob that went up to 11. Would have been funny.
You don't seem to grasp what the numbers here mean, however.
No, they thought, "We want people to have a minimum gear level to advance to the next difficulty level," so they tuned the numbers and the gear toward that goal. If you don't have the necessary gear for a difficulty, you won't be able to survive in that difficulty. It's pretty simple.
The real bit of news there is that when the rider is on, the monster's attacks drain Mana/AP. Seems... oddly specific. Do other classes have similiar resource drain opponents?Yeah, they were mentioned at the GDC art panel. They teased that they aren't showing us the rider, and I'm kinda tickled that even with these Bradygames spoilers, we still don't know the second component to this pair XD.
Not that I have seen. There haven't been many monster strings past act I in the beta files, though, so it's possible. It was the same in D2 with those floating glowing star things or the mosquito clouds that drained stamina. But you're right about the specificity since we don't all use mana anymore.
I have a bit of an idea who the rider is but we'll see.
