Welcome!! How quickly will you play Hardcore?

I'm curious how quickly people are going to start playing hardcore. I know there will be people that dive right into that immediately. I'm going to play through on softcore for a bit before I switch. Because for me, once I start playing HC I'll probably not go back to SC. That's the way it was for me in D2 at least. I imagine I'll take at least a character all the way through the game entirely before I switch to HC. Not sure. We'll see how it goes.

Really looking forward to the release. Put in for a vacation day on the 15th long time ago. Everybody knows not to bother me that day. Just got to get stocked up on Hot Pockets

I'll probably go through normal once on softcore before making a hardcore character. Most of my friends will likely play only softcore so I need to have a character there. I'll start building my hardcore character on the side, slowly and steady, that's what D2 has thought me. There's no competition, I'll go through it at my own pace.

I plan to play HC right away, with my SC character only being there to play with SC friends. I won't treat my SC character very seriously, and I probably won't bother with making more than one.

This is my tentative plan, but if inferno as as face-crushingly hard as they claim (and I'm still skeptical), then SC might complement my gameplay more than I expect.

I'm jumping in as soon as I can. A toon death doesn't really matter to me.

I plan on playing Hardcore sporadically throughout Diablo 3's lifespan.

I can see myself making a hardcore char before hitting inferno, but not going into inferno until I have played it on softcore.

Originally I had planned to hit HC immediately after finishing normal SC. That changed with a little more thought. I'll be starting a HC character after completing NM SC and taking a peak into Hell. MY HC character will be my serious endeavor while my SC character will be more for relaxing and trying things out before doing them on my HC character,

I spent over 10 years playing exclusively HC so I see no reason to alter my play style just because they say Inferno is difficult. Live and learn, Die and Restart !!

Hrm, well, I'm not exactly planning to play HC right away, but something tells me I probably will. Like you, ZappaFan, there was no returning to SC in Diablo II and I will probably not stay SC very long. Most likely I will just switch to HC right away once I unlock it at level 10 SC.

This can not be my moderater, with his blasphemy about playing hardcore after completing the game!

More serious now, for me, there is only one hardcore and thats going through the game without any knowledge about whats coming. So, get lvl 10, logout and create a hardcore barbarian.
