    Diablo has a story?

You mean it isn't just endless grinding for items?!

I've been playing since launch and I skipped the cut scenes for the first 5 or so years.

I will play each character to level 10 in SC at release to get a basic feel as I work during the week. Once the weekend hits, I will be ripping it in HC nonstop.

I feel the need to understand the progression curve before doing HC. I probably won't push through Hell in HC until I'm farming inferno in SC.

How long will that be? No idea.

I know I'll spend more time playing HC in D3 than SC...but I won't get started on it for a month or so. Softcore will only be incredibly exciting the first 2-3 weeks you're playing the game...but HC is always exciting. So if I'm going to play SC ever, the time will be at launch.

Hardcore at the start. Glad to see there is a fairly large number of people who will be going HC at launch!

I am going hardcore straight off the bat - in fact I will kill the skelly king - then weirdly miss the "you have completed beta" message (how bizzare!) and start from the beginning again to get to level 10 - I will NOT go further till my life is on the line!

Re: Welcome!! How quickly will you play Hardcore?

I think people struggling with whether or not to take their time and explore the game's content before getting into HC are missing the point! If you're doing it right, hardcore play compliments exploring the game. HC should be slow and deliberate, taking one's time to explore every nook and cranny so as not to miss XP or gear that will make you stronger. You don't have to choose between endgame/story content or hardcore - do them both at the same time. How will you know if you're ready for nightmare, hell, or inferno if you haven't played through them yet in SC? Well, because you'll be at a point in the previous difficulty where you're crushing everything, and it's obviously time to move on. Once you get there, again, take your time and feel it out.

We've been waiting for D3 for years. No way an I wasting another minute on softcore characters when D3 hardcore is finally here. Ding level 10, delete, create hardcore monk (I think).

    +1 to that.

I'll be playing HC as soon as I am able. Course... I can't really afford to buy the game, but those are just details.

Re: Welcome!! How quickly will you play Hardcore?

While I sounded a bit hesitative in my first post in this thread, who am I kidding? Of course I'll be playing HC immediately. I was even contemplating making my GF play a character to 10 on my account in order to unlock HC for me. Playing a SC character to 10 sounds so pointless now.

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
