I'm with the most people in here (or the 6-7% of D3 players as the recent poll showed), so I'll play my least favorite character to level 10, then re-roll on Hardcore. I'm convinced that I will be cursing myself many times for that decision as I die again and again in Hell/Inferno, but at least I will keep my stash.
In the best case scenario I would've been able to make ~$10 max in RMAH, which means I can live without it in D3. And I'm actually glad that most farmers won't touch HC, because of the absence of RMAH.
HC market doesn't refresh itself because of deaths really. The market still manages to get flooded with items at some point. Seen it happen over and over with D2 I don't imagine D3 will be much different. In fact with the aspect that you don't lose your stash when you die I would imagine it will happen quicker with D3 than with D2.

If Inferno is as hard as they promised it is, it wouldnt go as fast as with Diablo II, which after 12 years we knew every in and out about. I agree, at some point it will get flooded, but for now I think it aint fair to compare it with D2, even after a ladder reset, quite frankly because of our knowledge about the game. I remember a lot of people dying after 1.10 patch, because stuff changed suddenly. Multiply this by a couple and I hope we reached Inferno difficulty. If thats the case, you will end up with a market which has decent refreshing due natural selectionUp untill a point where Blizz nerves the **** out of it, or we end up knowing how to beat Inferno easily.
I disagree. The problem in Diablo 2 was duping. Becasue you were able to duplicate items, after one month of new ladder reset there were as much items as it should be reached after 4 years of playing. And since Diablo 3 client/server setup will prevent from dupe's, the problem will be way smaller.
I have no pretenses about actually making (or even attempting to make) money via the RMAH. I'm just displeased that it's absent in HC. Don't want to sound like a broken record here, but it will lead to some unpleasant black markets. Jay keeps saying over and over that the RMAH is there to give the players what they've always wanted or sought in the first place. Just not the hardcore players.
Yeah you know I thought this exact same thing after reading the interview with Jay (just today) about the RMAH. So it kind of makes me wonder why they aren't offering it for HC as they are for SC. The prohibition of just about anything always leads to a black market for it. No doubt the D3 HC itamz sitez will be opening up shop.

But the point that I was making is that death isn't going to do much to refresh the market, especially since you won't be losing your stash when your die. There are going to be a lot of people finding a lot of stuff legitimately. And it certainly remains to be seen if there won't be any duping in D3. That will be awesome, but I'll believe when I don't see it.

Just a quick comment. RMAH circumvents the process of acquiring items or gold to use for actual gameplay or trading through in game means, which essentially makes HC easier. If you're in favour of that, I question how hardcore you really are... don't softcore up my hardcore please.
I'm going to level a female Wiz to 10 (so I don't unlock achievements for some random class) then start my manly HC Wiz and shut out all online resources, YouTube tutorials, strategy guides, Wiki pages, etc. from release onwards.
Not using outside resources until I beat Normal HC, then I have to find someone willing to pair up and do Nightmare and Hell, dedicated enough to take it slow and learn the game, but also have fun. Should be a blast! XD
I admire your commitment. I think by taking it slow and enjoying the potential intricacies of the game you will be greatly rewarded!
I find that multyplayer sessions in any game seem to turn into a mad dash; rush here, rush there, kill, kill, sell, sell, rush back, use this skill because it's the fastest (no time to read new skill descriptions anyway), etc... and instead of playing the game, I am just running to keep up!
So I won't be as dedicated to isolation as you, but I'm definitely going to try and take things slow at first and enjoy the **** out of all the new stuff! (though I still hope to be social with some of my old Banana friends).
Rushing around and being efficient has it's place, but that comes later, imho.
(I.e. "gib rush plz" is for after you've already finished everything in normal 5 times with your eyes closed).
