Ilvl and sockets... Failed twice.

I thought that Broad Swords with an Ilvl of >26 would get 4 sockets from Larzuk.. I was wrong.

Why's that? Anyone knows?

Obviously Im sure where I got the sword (CS = Alvl 28), but arent the monsters at least lvl 28 there???

In normal mode, the area level doesn't replace the monster level. The CS monsters are L30, however, so that doesn't explain it. Maybe it's from a chest? I'm not entirely sure how drops from chests are produced, maybe that's an explanation.

Or was it a cracked one which has been fixed with the recipe? Or you confused something with your socketables? I think I used ilvl 26-40 broad swords for Spirit before, although I used those from nightmare and it might have had 4 natural sockets instead of going to Larzuk with it.

If I understand you correctly.. You mean that an area level of 26 doesnt necessarily hold lvl 26 monsters?

Its a normal white, dropped by a monster in the CS.
I might be the subject to an error. But Im usually experienced enough to know these things! :P

I just wasted 2 rushed chars socketquests to prove this to me! I guess Ill have to wait until NM before Ill get my spirit sword!

Yes, in normal mode, the monsters keep their original level.

I assume you started out with a cold sorc which means that the only spell which depends a lot on fcr is teleport (and maybe static, but only versus bosses) and you will probably get along without the additional mana, vit, res and +skills from Spirit before nightmare. I'm usually too stingy with Larzuk rewards at that point anyway . Too bad that you wasted the runes and the reward at that point.

Better don't use further Larzuk rewards on broad swords below ilvl 41 for now.

I got my spirit now, turned out 35/102. not so bad!

The Doom Knight minions of Oblivion Knights are only base level 24.

i don't know exactly without some tabs, but in general i think u should drop it on A5, chaos is still 25. alvl...
