Minimum spirit is 150, 250 spirit after the passive, and there might be some affixes that add to the cap as well.
Mantras would be 100spirit every 6seconds.
Any changes that you make to make up for slow spirit generation will actually benefit the fast attacking dual wield monk more.
Exalted soul for 100 extra spirit? The DW monk can spend more spirit then since they can refill it quicker.
The Guardian's Path? You sacrificed a passive that could've gone to utility, defense.
Yeah, I rememer it had something like 131% dmg to wizards only, but so what? My emphasis is about attack speed so I used an easy to find example. Pretend I said dual wielding Darkblades (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/darkblade) or Azurewraths and try your argument again. As a point of reference, my monk had a base ~2.3APS with beta gear, with a frenzy shrine I reached over 2.8APS.Btw Wiz spike has only 203 base DPS, the rest of it's DPS is from affixes (that we can't see).

118.5*1.978= 234.393 DPS
If you get one item with 15% IAS your APS would be.
1.72*(1+.15+.15)=2.236 APS
118.5*2.236= 264.966 DPS
Since the start to the last day of beta monks couldn't use 2h axes, 2h maces nor 2h swords so you'll have to try again. Sure you could wait 'til the patch that will supposedly add more weapon choices is deployed but until then, though, you'll take nothing or stick with a Barbarian.Lets compare that to Skorn.

You can get +APS and %attack speed from rings, amulets and weapons and %attack speed from gloves. So yeah you are right and wrong at the same time, I gave the 4.5 APS figure as a conservative baseline. Best in slot +APS and %attack speed takes you beyond 5.2 APS.

why would a mantra need 100 SPirit every 6 seconds ?! Would you re-cast it every 6 seconds? Doesn't that mean u have a "skill casting movement" and your attacks are stopped?
alls i know is i HATED using a Daibo in the closed beta. i prefered the crafted 1 handed maces. im pretty sure my monk will be dual wielding most of the time, i hope. (way more fun..). Who LIKES being SLOW? lol.
I'd definitely want to use a Daibo when using Seven-Sided Strike, at least.

You don't need to cast mantras every 3 seconds. But to get the improved benefits from the first 3 seconds of it you would... that was an example of what you could use the 100 spirit in a short amount of time.
Yes, 2 handers suck early on. The DPS difference is minuscule early in the game, but as you reach higher levels the difference increases greatly.
I'm sure Skorn isn't easy to come by so i'm not crying..
The passives are meant to complement your play style. So if you are using a two hander your spirit generation will be less. The guardian's path offsets this slightly. I could also say that your passives you would use for increased damage are a waste since you could do more damage with a 2h, not needing those +dmg passives.
