So if you have a weapon with 1.0 APS that does 10-20 damage base, it will do the same damage with skills as a weapon with 1.0 APS 5-10 damage base and 5-10 damage on hit(fire, arcane, etc.)?
Yep, exactly.
Yes, but keep in mind, that the DPS you see in a weapon's tooltip only includes bonuses from the weapon itself and not from your other items. The item comparison tooltip works the same way, which means that you can actually lose DPS depending on your gear, even when the comparison says that you'll gain some. The only reliable way to see whether a weapon does more DPS is to equip it and watch how the DPS value changes on your character sheet.
As all the items are now on the blizzard site.. any more thoughts on this? I think this:

With high spirit + fast generating spirit = awesome
Yeah that set looks very nice.
+36-40% on Flying Dragon also looks nice, but the skill affixes look poopy.
Inna's Justice looks interesting as well.
Based on my playing it does factoring +damage from stats & gear when you read the green text for changes, if the item are equipted but the DPS value dont factor in the numbers (based on 5 hours of playing the game).
He's saying the DPS value stated on the item doesn't include damage from other gear or stats, whereas the DPS shown in the character window does.
Alright, we've had over a week to play around with the Monk. What do people think now?
I think it's overwhelmingly clear that 1h weapons are superior, with dual-wielding all the way from Normal to Hell, and 1h+shield becoming more useful in Inferno. Right now I really don't see a way to use 2h without severely gimping myself, not just due to the reduced spirit regen (which is vital for Transcendence-based heal), but also reduced heal from life on hit and fewer interrupts per second.
If life steal was more useful or if heals scaled off damage somehow I could see Daibos being useful, but otherwise the increased DPS just isn't worth it, not even if they did even more DPS than they do now.
