Hello,
I'm currently planning the names of my future characters.
I'd like to know, from the people that have been lucky enough to play the beta :
- What's the maximum name length allowed (it was something like 14 or 15 characters in D2, can't remember exactly),
- Are special characters allowed, like space or multiple underscores (D2 was limited to 1 underscore, and 0 space IIRC),
- Any other useful info for that purpose is welcome...
Thank you very much,
- Frosty
Character names have to be 3 to about 14-16? characters long, no spaces, numbers or anything else besides actual letters. You won't have to worry though whether the name you fancy is already taken, as they don't have to be unique. As a matter of fact, you can name all 10 of your characters exactly the same.
The max. name lenght in beta was 12 characters (99% sure)..
I have no idea, incidentally, why they don't allow spacesI like to give my wizards Chinese names, for instance... since the Wizard's home place names are clearly Chinese (specifically, looks like Mandarin romanized with the pinyin system), and their dress and design supports that. But Chinese given names are almost always two words.

No special characters? I would like to use (we'll see if you see these correctly) åäöû like i.e Beåwûlf
Don't forget filtered words. As far as I know, the following names are restricted:
- (Any profanity/racial slurs)
- Religious terms such as "God" or its variants.
